Bob's playing exemplifies tone, taste, feel, dynamics, and soul. Exquisite ear candy: sweet, tangy, thoughtful, poignant. So much to hear in this gem. Of course, this entire band is excellent.

I listen to this version a couple times a week. It's a fine dance between, sax, organ, and guitar. Drummer is good too. There are many versions, listen to them all.

To me this is Mcgriff's best period. As much as I dig the early Sue recordings he just seems so polished and mature here. I think Melvin Sparks was the usual guitarist but Devos is a master "organ guitarist" that played w just about all the legends and he really shines here as usual....great band all around, and Hank seems particularly happy ;^)

@fretsnnuts I saw Jimmy and Hank several times when he was at Jimmie's in Oakland and the Red Lion here in Sacramento California. I loved Jimmy and I miss him every time I hear someone try to play a B-3. He was the best. I think better than Jimmy Smith and a much better attitude as a person...

Cretins who can’t appreciate beauty or talent. These idiots can’t do anything except show their lack of respect for gifted people except through their thumb. They need to go back to country western or Lawrence Welk. They’ll be right at home

this be the real shit man...I played LA jazz casuals with Jimmie, Art Pepper, Tommy Gumina 2 years in 70's, was like a puppy hanging on for dear life. I moved to Tokyo, Jimmie did too, he played Tokyo Disneyland many years. Back story is Hank was called for a session by but got stuck in out of town transit so Grover Washington did the date and became a crossover star. Damned transit! www.philadelphiamusicalliance.org/honoree.php?id=110
