For context I've never played the prime games. Those came out in a part in my life where I thought being a 20 year old was too old to play video games LOL. Turn off here I am now almost 45 and wanting to catch up on everything I missed out on.

Those aren't Metroids, they're Mochtroids. They are metroid clones created by the space pirates. Pretty sure this game is taking place AFTER Super Metroid as well.

Apparently the year 20X9 is after the events of Super. While Other M is immediately after Super, there is an indeterminate amount of time between Super/Other M and Fusion, so timeline wise this game could very well be after Super. Although that then brings up the question of why Samus keeps swapping back and forth between ship designs.

Other M doesn't take place immediately after Super, only the intro does. There's a "nebulous" time skip after the tutorial, with Samus herself talking about how she doesn't even really remember exactly how much time passed since Super. Plus, per the plot of the game, the Federation would've needed a decent amount of time to even create the BOTTLE SHIP after getting the DNA samples off of Samus. Prime 4 could easily take place in that unspecified period of time.

Looking at the timeline, looks like this is right after federation force, since thats where sylux took the mocktroids, right before samus returns. This makes the most sense to me. Plus the prime 3 ship with upgrades would make sense here. All speculation of course. They haven't shown much at all. Like 1% of the game.

that area being ransacked by space pirates is definitely some kind of federation lab or something similar, the architecture and blue lasers really sell that. the humans firing back at the pirates having the blue federation visors on their faces is a plus too seeing as how sylux *hates* the federation, he’s probably trying to nab some ancient technology thing and turn it against them

All this talk about "20X9 after Super" makes me realise... You know that the X can be 10 different numbers ? What if Super happens 7 or 8 years after this ?

Given that the logo is a black hole and the only other place we see black holes in the franchise is SR388 in Samus Returns (they retconned the sun, lol) I think there's a good chance that this is the game that prompts the federation to discover SR388, maybe the planet is in the same solar system like with Zebes and Talon IV. It would make sense if Sylux used pirate data and found he can naturally breed more Metroids there which leads to us following him.

He should watch the federation force ending or something. Also a shame he missed the timeline date at the literal start of the trailer.

I would love if the camera zoom out of Samus while using certain abilities like Space Jump/Screw Attack/Speed booster as quick as going into morph ball.

People are focusing too much on the 20X9 thing, the X can be anything, thats literally why its there in the first place instead of an actual number. MP4 will take place after Federation Force and before Metroid 2, there is no need to overcomplicate this.

Like idk how, i kept seeing "but it says 20x6, 20x7..." like bro the x could be 2016 2037 2019. If your thinking the timeline is just their number based on the last one has never thought they can sensor the decade....

What's a better name than "Beyond"? It sounds too optimistic to me. How about Metroid Prime 4: Singularity?

The only thing I hate is Samus' suit. It's clearly not a prime suit, to me it looks way too much like a toy. In prime 1 and 2 the suits were always darker and sharper. Maybe it's just me but I don't like the way the art direction is trending towards Other M, rather than back to Prime 1.

If anything the art direction is an upscaled fusion dance of prime 3 and halo 4. But I agree, the proportions of her suit should be touched up, especially the waist since in certain frames it looks like a cosplay costume

That's just the artstyle, even Prime Remastered had things look a bit weird, like its a more cartoony lighting or material or something on the suit. The artstyle is a bit strange in this and Remastered, so I'm still getting used to it. The proportions are also changed but I think that is so that it is a bit more realistic (before it was literally impossible for her arms to be attached technically, and that is fixed), and to be slightly more consistent with other games (not just the Prime games). For instance, the hips are more like Dread's/Zero Mission's and the armcannon is also a mix of Prime and Dread's. Granted I don't like the suit (but I've never liked the Prime 2/3 helmet admittedly). Also, I don't like that they kept the Prime 2/3 color scheme, which is basically just a dull bronze, and is lacking in color variety (the abdomen is barely a different shade as the shoulders) that the other games excel at. I much prefer Prime Remastered's color scheme and even that one I don't like as much as the classic vibrant orange and red's. I think it would have been fine to just make up a new design just like they did when they made Prime 2's suit in the first place. But I imagine they will likely just replace the suit soon enough in the game, just like in Prime 3 where the PED suit is the main one.

The same space pirate music returns including the annoying high pitch noise. I was never a fan of the composer for metroid primes except for phedrana drift. Im still not with what im hearing

I fucks with the Prime sound, but I will admit, after watching the trailer quite a few times with a pretty good, well balanced sound system, Goddamn is this trailer an annoying cacophony of noises or what? It's like they didn't bother mixing and mastering this shit at all and it pisses me off, because this game deserves better treatment than this. Case in point: that damn riff when Sylux pops in. Could they not have auto ducked some of the higher frequencies in the other music carrying on to let it shine through and have a greater impact? Because I thought it was damn cool, but they didn't allow it to have the impact that it should have had.

But the composer for Prime is the same as Super Metroid. Plus the OG Pirate music didn't have the annoying high pitch sound. Prime 1 and 2 are both great with very little music that sounds bad, its not until 3 where the instruments were changed to include more annoying stuff like the high pitch whistling like in the trailer. The whole sound of the trailer is a mess and I suspect its because they just layered an early version of the Pirate theme over a section of the game that likely has little music because its so noisy. Hopefully its good and its just early development issues.

@@EdBoi18 Yep, it took like 3 trailer breakdowns before I even noticed the guitar riff. The music isn't mixed in very good at all and was a very obvious issue from the first viewing of the trailer.

Huge metroid fan but I'm honestly disappointed after watching trailer I think it's 5 to 6 years to late.. I'll give it a shot but I feel this ship has sailed
