Fractured Identity in BPD (Art Episode) - The BPD Bunch BRUNCH

Xannie, Katja, Melanie and guest Blake (now John), share their artistic interpretations of how they experience fractured identity in BPD. The bunch also consider what their art would look like if it encapsulated a more integrated identity. If you are interested in drawing along, we'd love to see your art! Share and tag us on socials.

Xannie, I find it interesting that the section with red is on your chin in the picture and kind of like in scratches and wobbly lines. When someone believes they are something, the mask either seals at the chin or is lifted at the chin when taking it off. When the identity is fractured or we take on others traits and personas, I feel for me it has lead to a lot of the imposter syndrome even down to a spiritual imposter or feeling I’ve lost my soul. I love how much of it has to do with your passions making up who you are. That’s where I find mine

I can’t express enough how much I love you guys! You bring me pure joy. I’d love to join in one of your calls. I have BPD and have done a lot of work to understand myself since my diagnosis. The fractured identity is a huge part. I tend to do my art in an abstract thought process and noticed a pattern over time wherein I tend to draw these demonic figures. I’d love to share with you what I drew recently. It’s the internal struggle of which identity will become me

I’ve had to live my life by will because if my brain and body took it’s natural course, the end would be devastating
