I am truly thankful for this message. I am Christian what father Mike said about the one who stayed home and resented it is definitely me. I was just at the point where I honestly couldn’t figure out why and how I could be a believer anymore there’s just so much hurt. This message really helped. I will pray for the being held as I am . The whole message was wonderful.

This parable brought me to God.

Thank you Father Mike Schmitz for this beautiful teaching of our lord Jesus Christ. My father passed away long time ago, I was still very small he told this story to his children, my father read a Bible and he shared to us , we are all Catholic. This reminded me when I heard you now Father Mike . We his children not perfect also , but Our lord Jesus Christ his love is still with us all , even up to today , our God is so Merciful , kind , caring generous all the time . And what a message for the Christian who looks side-eyed at the celebrity or the undesirable politician or even person in our own town who turns to faith after a life of horribleness. I am not Catholic but I am a Christ-follower and I just want to say how much this message from Father Mike spoke to my heart and brought tears to my eyes. I discovered his Bible Reading Thru the Year on Spotify which has been such a blessing to me. I have recently begun listening to some of his messages such as this one. I so appreciate his heart of integrity and faithfulness to share the redemptive love of our Saviour. I can so relate to this message as I was one who strayed and doubted the love of my earthly father as well as my Heavenly Father. God, in His great love and mercy, gave me the gift of experiencing not only His love, grace and forgiveness but also of receiving the gift of love verbalized by my earthly father the evening before the day he went to be with Jesus in Paradise. Love and forgiveness are the greatest gifts bestowed upon us. May I give these gifts as they have been given to me. 🙏🏼❤️

I think the Mass Explained is one of his best talks. I use it for teaching, but I could see a non Catholic use this to understand why we believe in Christ and his sacrifice in the way we do. Type in Mass Explained Seek, and it should show up.

Praying for people who Are Lonely.may God Have Mercy ON Them

Fr. Mike, people with disability are capable of contributing to our world. They do not bring money but they teach us how to love, be silent, compassionate, and accept who we are as humans as ( limited) instead of being obsessed with being superficial and invulnerable. In my view they are prophets and they contribute conversions and transformations of ordinary people, particularly Christians. Finally they are image of God as each of us.

I believe Father's point was that this girl could never do for herself so her dad felt he needed to make sure she was taken care of.

Fr. Mike's witness talk about the prodigal son is key for all the exploited children who leave home or have family issues. Youth need to know we care. But more importantly that they have rights . They can and should be protected. Please lord protect children that are abused. Give them courage to stand up for themselves. Amen.

Fr. Mike this session was for me ....I was much in behavior like the elder son.....though I knew it was wrong....I was hurt just like him. Todays talk showed me.....I was resentful and really needed to be held. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for talking to me through your beloved priest.

I had to come back here and write. I can't imagine the miraculous atmosphere that filled the space there but it's probably the most that anyone reached out into cyberspace(real time)as you did here, Fr. Mike. The emotion (like in a one man play) was real. Not put on. The highlight at the end with the renunciation prayer, of the things we take on from the bad spirit, and putting a bit of humor in it, as though it was for yourself. Very humble. Refuses to allow us to have a relationship with them or our precious Granddaughter. Sounds like over politics, faith, disagreements over Covid, etc. Awful. Very painful. Heartbreaking.

"The Prodigal Son" is one of my favourite parables since young. I used to read it again and again when I was a kid and even memorised it whenever I felt a sense of unfairness in life. I would pondered and prayed. Now I'm 52 years old, I still love this parable. I still read it whenever I feel I had been treated unfairly. Armed with much more experience in life, I empathise with the elder son instead. Prayers can change many things, circumstances and situations but faith is the most important thing that we must continually pray for one another. Let us offer words of encouragement and kindness whenever we can.

Father Mike schmitz, I am the youngest of nine children. I've been raised by two wonderful parents who taught me the Catholic faith. I am now a mother of 10 children. But unfortunately I've been in physical and abusive married relationship and I am now still married but separated. I raised the children on my own. There are seven that are now adults with children of their own. I was blessed so blessed with my children I was lucky enough to get a set of twin boys . I listen to you each and every one of your talks each and every one of your masses. You are an amazing place. You have many gifts I can fill them. You definitely have spiritual wisdom. I talked to God continuously , I asked him to always be with me with everything I do of course I have many questions but one of the very important questions that I have and I was hoping you could help me. How does a person forgive while the person is being abused I forgive I do but then I I get so confused on how to forgive while I'm being abused mentally.

❤❤❤I would, and did, seek counseling. I ask the Holy Family for guidance 24/7. I have made friends with several priests who are helpful. I also have an experienced professional counselor whom I trust and is very helpful. The more support you have in your corner the better you will feel about yourself. ❤ Prayers for your intentions ❤❤❤

"What have you done with the life I gave you?"

I was six years old. In fact, it was my sixth birthday that I was hospitalized with double pneumonia and scarlet fever.. It was touching go I didn’t know it at the time. All I knew was that I was sick and I was in the hospital I went in on my birthday which is October 19 and came home 2 days before Christmas. I missed most of the first grade. Now at 66 the damage done 60 years ago has come home to roost. Just when you think you can put something behind you. It has a weird way of popping up and surprising you.

I love this sermon, I cried. I feel as though I am the so who didn’t disobey. Yeah sometimes I do feel like I’m mad for not “enjoying” youth, but then I think of all my hidden blessings I’ve had in life. All the times I’ve been protected from car accidents, potential human threats, situations I avoided where I could be hurt and it literally stops me in my tracks and I thank God He always protected me. Not once in my life have I not obtained an answer to a prayer, sometimes the answer is No, but like a NOOOO. Sometimes my prayer is delayed but it’s always answered. Only then do I realize that there is an abundance of protection and love from Him always above, around and for me. That’s when I’m the most thankful, it’s also humbling. I don’t think I deserve his constant gaze because I’m not perfect. There’s a quote I heard from my favorite rapper to his daughter. “I’m not perfect but I’m trying to love you perfectly” that’s my motto to life to anyone who becomes important to me. God is perfect Jesus who is perfect gave himself for us, in my imperfection I will learn to love the best way I can.

I always imagine the question being, "What did you do with the life I gave you?"
