Fr. Gregory Pine, O.P., on The Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Refuge in Heaven

Is it possible to love too much? Not when it comes to our heavenly mother. Fr. Gregory Pine, O.P., principal preacher at the inaugural Dominican Rosary Pilgrimage, characterizes Marian devotion “as overflow, not overkill." He explains that Mary sets herself up "as an icon, not an idol, allowing our gaze to pass through her, to her Son. And she doesn’t upend the place of Christ, rather she extends it to us, with the care of a mother.”

You left me sobbing in to my pillow. Thank you Fr Gregory. Our Lady’s maternal love has been a constant comfort to me before loosing my own earthly mother but has somehow been a struggle to recover since. This helped. Thank you.

Your pilgrimage rosary made me fall in love with the rosary. It was a most beautiful experience. I replayed it all over and over. Thank you for the great effort by the Dominicans to venerate The Blessed Mother and The Blessed Trinity.

This is good… I struggle some with the “Mary” thing, recently coming back to Catholic. Im learning depth in it all. I usually avoid anything about it but chose to listen to this and blessed me much. Thank you! 💜🙏💜

I'm beginning to suspect you're a bit of an icon Father Pine, I wept with the love of God and Our beloved Mother that I could feel through you! Don't worry though, I'm not going to worship you, haha.
