Usually best to have someone else throw for you, or throw with auto launch in goggles.

Or dont trow it up. Trow it from the side and not over the head. I always launch in manual mode and never had a crazy crash like this

"guys, I've been putting in extra hours at work for months and even though Sara left me I know it'll be worth it once I strap on those fpv glasses and go soar like an eagle. I want everyone who believed in me to come watch the maiden flight.

I see a LOT of reactions but no actual constructive support.... You torque rolled the wing in combination with a bad hand launch. Usually you'd want to hold the wing near its tip, give it 75% (maybe 80%) throttle and the wing should feel almost weightless. Then swing it out into the air with a light toss (and obviously let go). When the wing has gained enough airspeed (doesn't take long) then you can punch it! It could also be a CG issue too, the best method for checking CG on any rc aircraft is to use a Vannessa CG Rig (plenty of tutorials oh how to make one yourself). Glide test it with batteries, action camera, etc on board but don't give it throttle, if it flies in between being nose heavy or tail heavy, it's ready for a maiden and for final elevon Trims. (Being slightly nose heavy is a good thing, it helps with tracking while in flight). Check manufacturer recommendations for Reflex and max servo Throw angles (or measurements). The other thing you can do if you have friends is to ask them to launch your wing using both hands (one hand on each wing side) and launch the wing in front of them at full arms length, letting go of the wing just before it's over their head and into the air. That method can be intimidating, use extreme caution. Another method if your solo, use a bungee launcher, this is my preferred Launch Method for my DefiantWings 66 inch span double motor FPV Wing with two 5000 mAh 4s lipos!!

Sadly I've been there too, it's heartbreaking watching all your hard work instantly end in disaster!

I have a slight upward pitch bound to a switch on my transmitter. This helps tremendously with hand launches.

Yup looks about right ✅️ I've done this multiple times with fpv wings😂

Always use your right hand to hold transmitter and have thumb on your aileron and elevator stick. Use left hand to throw, and chin to throttle up.

I don't even f with this stuff but I can sympathize with it. That's a tough pill to swallow. Just gotta let him walk it off.

Everyone was so hyped to see that thing fly!. the lights didnt show up well on camera but looked sick and the sun was setting, so that added to the "ohhhhhhhhhh" moment. :-/

I made dead simple wing, it's dead simple and flies well even without any FC. Not to mention it's cheap to make.

I have enough punch on a few of my wings to just do a vertical takeoff. It’s a lot easier if you can deal with the torque roll 😉👍

Iv'e got it. On your way to the park stop at Home Depot. Buy a ( 4 x 8' ) piece of plywood. Propr it up to something .. ANYTHING that can keep it at a ( 45 degree ) or more angle. place RC wing at bottom. Step on Gas. BOOM ! Your in the air. Damn i'm Brillinat !
