Foxtrot: The Way You Look Tonight
This is what happens when nerds do ballroom. American Foxtrot between Katherine Hunt (Student) and JC Phoenix (Instructor), 2/12/2016.
This was an in-studio showcase performance at the Arthur Murray Studio in Santa Monica CA. It's for fun--not a serious dance.

That has got to be one of the most sedate group of spectators, ready to go home and bust out some nachos.. I enjoyed it Fun to watch!!
Glad you mentioned it; that was well done! (I could never do ballroom dance - without full choreography, I'm totally lost; even with full choreography...)

Would any experts out there please list the choreogrphy that the couple are using? Is it American Foxtrot or International or mixed? Thx

Hi there! I can't list the choreo (been too long) but we were doing American Foxtrot. This was at a studio in the US. :-)

Nope! This was a foxtrot. If you listen to the beat of tbe music you'll note that Foxtrot music is 4/4 time while a waltz is 3/4 time. The moves themselves can be very similar between the two dances at times, but the beat of the music ( 1234, 1234 for foxtrot) versus 123,123 for waltz is how you tell them apart at the most basic level when dancers are doing a lovely, creative version like this. ( I've been ballroom dancing socially for over 45 years so I've picked up a thing or two along the way. 😊)

American style fox trot ..... not as tight as the international style.
