Listening to Gus speak about broadcasting, is just like listening to him call a game. The man is poetry embodied. Prose embedded in flesh. Absolutely loved listening to these men, two pillars of my sports fandom, wax poetic. Please do it again, soon.

The goat Gus Johnson, his game calling is timeless, you can watch the same game multiple times with same excitement, more importantly he respects each team he’s calling game for, not even Klatt is at that level

2007 OSU vs. Xavier during March Madness in Kentucky, when he called the game - Ron Lewis hit the 3 to send it to overtime. Gus' call and the comments after it hit OT..."This is March Madness!!" ... priceless. The guy is a National Treasure.

Never knew Gus was a Wayne County guy! For me, he only popped onto my radar, when he made theUber. In The Game: "O-Ja-Bo!" Listening to him, I can hear a little Ernie Harwell in his presentation, and story telling abilities. Wish he would have had the chance to call a game opposite Keith Jackson, Pat Summerall, Howard Cosell, or Bob Ufer.
