Fourier Transform Formula Explained

In this video we connect the mathematical ideas behind the Fourier transform equation and why it represents the decomposition of a signal into its frequency components, by looking at how the Euler's formula relates and the unit circle can be interpreted as signals of certain frequencies.

I tried to do a Fourier series course in the beginning of my studies, but it was pretty rough so I dropped it. Maybe I'll take it again next summer!

Well, once you get the necessary mathematical intuition of Fourier transform, it gets much easier to understand any material on it. Is there anything in this video that wasn't clear for you? Should have I approached something differently?

@@datamlistic the video is clear and intuitive! The course was rough for me because of all the proofs and nasty integrals the prof wanted us to do :D

Happy to hear that this video has not added to you confusion and hopefully it made things more clear. Indeed, the academic curriculum usually ignores the intuition behind things which often leads to confusion and as a result the students drop out the course.

Yep, that's correct. Thanks for pointing it out and sorry if that has caused any confusion. I will try to be more careful next time. :)
