The woodville community has taken a lot of damage due to a tornado. We are about 10 miles south of down town Tally. Its definitely more damage than we've had from hurricanes in the 30+ years I've lived here. It wouldn't surprise me if we went days without power. I think there are more power lines downed than not in our little area.

I’m a grad student at FSU and we’re still without power on my side of town. My roomates and I woke up at around 7 am on the dot to the storm hitting our area. The wind was terrifying and the thunder was so intense that it was shaking, and I mean SHAKING, our concrete apartment building. We could hear the building and trees creaking. I’ve lived in central FL for five years (Tallahassee for more than half), but I’m from NC originally, so to say I’m still unused to these major storms is an understatement. And yet I could still tell this storm was unlike anything I’ve experienced here. The damage to Railroad Square is really tragic. I have friends employed by/that own some of those local businesses and while they were fortunate in accruing less damage than their neighbors, they’re still gonna spend lots of time rebuilding and/or without business operations. I have a thesis to write and I have no WiFi and my cell service is pretty bad so I’m stressed but feel fortunate that my side of town only had minimal damage.

It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen this morning. When it stopped we could not believe how many trees and limbs were down. My neighbors car was crushed and mine suffered window damage but was literally parked right in front of her car. 😢Just happy we’re all alive and well. Prayers for us all.

Those towns should ask the mayors. To go around to those homes.Which have large trees. To get workers to cut them down.If they are dangerously close to homes.Instead of waiting for them to topple down on homes and killing people period.Better go around to prevent ,Then having to remove the tree from a house that has killed a resident or destroyed a house.Residents should phone in and ask for this service

Tornado destruction is always worse than hurricane, though not as widespread. Seems a little useless doomer analysis at the end. These tornadoes weren't spawned by a hurricane and we ARE in the spring storm season that generates tornadoes. An F3 tornado has windspeeds from 158 - 206 MPH and an F5 is 261 - 318 MPH. Even an F1 is the beginning of hurricane speeds.
