Four point harness install. Make your own Harness Bar and 4 point harness Brackets

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I build the harness bar and lap belt mounting brackets for my 4-point harness. I also give some tips on using a harbor freight pipe bender. It would cost a little over $300 to buy a harness bar and seat belt mounts. Save some money and make it yourself. Check out our amazon store for the parts I was using.

Rick 4 years ago I bought a $300 simadre 50dp plasma cutter on eBay. Cheap, but still cuts very well and I can easily buy more consumables since it is a common style torch head. Definitely worth the $375 if u looking for an inexpensive plasma cutter

My question is what bracket do you use if your jeep wrangler doesn't have a roll bar anymore but want to add the seat belts. Also the seats are Corbeau with the open slot at the top similar to the seat you did for the racing belts

That looks amazing man👌🏻 I’ll bet it feels way safer off road with that harness than with the factory seat belt. How hard is it going to be to get in and out of the back seat? Also did you account for the jump seats/forward and decline of the seats? Love how you made everything yourself.

Thanks, to be honest I didn’t really think about back seat access or tilting the seats forward for rear access and yes it’s a pain, especially with the soft top on, I can’t just reach or climb through the side, lol. I guess you just have to decide if the inconvenience is worth the upgrade is safety. Thanks for watching👊🏻

Muddy Beards 4X4 it’s worth it in my book! I took the back seat out of my Tj years ago. More room for tools.

Love it man. One question though. I've got an LJ, and i've been thinking about putting a harness bar in the front, and doing the same pass-through you did. However, i hesitate, because my Kids ride in the back. I think getting the kids in and out would be a flat out nightmare with the harness bar in the way. I see you still have a back seat in there, how is it getting small humans in and out of the back?

I'm interested in the harness bar myself and maybe one for the rear seat as well but have the same concern my 10 year old getting in and out. Also I have a hard top witch only gives you 2 entries through the hatch or lifting the passenger seat no side entrance like a soft top

I guess you just have to decide if the inconvenience is worth the upgrade in safety offroad. I do have a back seat but the kids don’t go very often, and most of the trails I do are pretty tough we’re I wouldn’t take them anyways. I am almost on the fence of making mine a 2 seater and putting my spare in the back instead. I don’t have a solution you just have to figure out and decide what will work best for your family.

@@MuddyBeards4X4 that's about what I expected. :P I'm considering an angled or looped tube from the side bar on the main hoop to the upper bar. Leaving the middle open. Then the kids could crawl between the front seats. But even that doesn't sound great.

I don’t, maybe I will do one eventually. It’s a beard suspension seat I got for $100 at a swap meet. Just used a Jr dragster 5 point harness and bought a $7 booster seat on OfferUp I modified to run the belts through it. Works great. Also fits a full size human pretty good too, with the factory seat belt.
