    I opened my package today - and was quite surprised at the mug you made for me - it was such a lovely black.... thank you so much - it is a special mug for me. And for those who are wondering - my 1 mug cost me $90.70. I think its important that we understand the cost -

I paused the video and really admired every detail that went into the piece. Your videos have been one of the things I’ve most enjoyed about this past year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ps. What an absolutely stunning video. I just love all the color combinations. The blues and grays are my favs. I have learned so much this year and can't wait to see more. When you do glazes over others, what would you say is the proper timing of each dip. Have a great remainder of 2021 and even better 2022.

    I’m in the Okanagan valley of BC where we have had everything thrown at us this year - Covid, a heat dome, devastating forest fires that took out entire towns, rain with flash floods with all three major highway suffering washouts and now a chilling arctic front -28c with strong wind so feels like -34. But we are optimistic Canadians who know tomorrow will be better 😊

    It was neat seeing your test glaze wall, I remember a few months ago when I was really starting you suggested finding a nice oatmeal glaze in a video and a friend was kind enough to give me a few pointers and now I have my own oatmeal recipe and I've been working toward developing other glazes and I can't wait to start testing layering effects. Love your work as always! That big piece was INCREDIBLE!

    I don't know if you're interested but I use a flathead screwdriver to remove stilts. I gently apply pressure at each arm of the stilt. I tend to keep from damaging the pc or breaking the stilt.

  • @Vsmithpots

    @Vsmithpots

    2 жыл бұрын

    I have done that too, mostly they just need a tap. The main issue I have is the multiple glazing, up to three layers and then the long soak, it runs down the handle and sometimes sticks to the stilt. Less so recently since I am aware of this and take precautions. There is always a surprise in every firing.

  • @Vsmithpots

    @Vsmithpots

    Жыл бұрын

    They are and if you use a porcelain type clay you need to bat wash the shelves. The shelves tend to allow the high fritted clay bodies to stick to the shelves. It was Jim Bailey who told me to do this when I told them my B-mix pieces were sticking to the shelves.

  • @Vsmithpots

    Too much work for me but i am sure if you bought a ceramic drill bit and some Kanthal wire it would be possible. They are cheap and last for 6-10 firings.
