This performance is composed of 4 individual dance choreographies (each quadrant of the stage is a different dance routine) representing 4 elements of nature - fire, air, earth and water. It was created as the opening performance for the XXIV Latvian Song and Dance Festival "Izdejot laiku" (held in 2008).
Latvian Song and Dance festival is a grand nationwide celebration taking place every 5 years and involving hundreds of choirs and amateur folk dance groups. This culture tradition has been recently recognized by UNESCO and included on the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.
