An antique shop in Suffolk with a nice exterior. I have a lot of old tableware, and I finally found the ideal plate! It's a little far away, but it's definitely worth the trip. There are other shops on the premises.

Apple dumplings (for 4 people)
Shortcrust pastry
-Soft flour---200g
-Salt---1/4 teaspoon
-Powdered sugar---2 tablespoons
-Unsalted butter---100g (cut into 1cm cubes and keep cold in the refrigerator until ready to use)
-Eggs (M)---2/3 pieces
-Lemon juice---1/2 teaspoon
-Cold water---1 tbsp
Filling
-Bramley apples (small)---4 pieces
-Sultana raisins---4 tablespoons
-Demerara Sugar---4 tablespoons
-beaten egg---1 tbsp
*Preheat the oven to 200℃ / 180℃ with fan / gas mark 6.
-Shortcrust pastry
1. Sift flour, salt, and powdered sugar into a bowl and add butter. Knead with your hands to make it smooth.
2. Mix eggs, lemon juice, and cold water well and add to step 1. Gently mix with a rubber spatula, form into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and leave in the refrigerator for about an hour.
3. Peel the apple and remove the core.
4. Divide the rested pastry dough into 4 equal parts and roll each part into a ball. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough to a diameter of about 20cm that can wrap around the apple. Place the apple in the center and add the sultana raisins and demerara sugar to the core. Wrap the apples while making pleats. Cut off the excess.
5.Stretch out the excess to make leaves and decorate. Brush the surface with beaten egg and prick the surface lightly with a fork.
6. Bake in a preheated oven for about 35 to 40 minutes. Please enjoy while it is still warm.

暁美さん、こんばんは。コメントありがとうございます。 ホント、素敵なものだらけでした。あのお皿セットがなかったとしても大満足して何かしら購入していたと思います。 アップルダンプリングはりんごを見つけるのが日本だと難しいかもしれませんよね。ぐちゃっと柔らかくなってくれる酸味の多いりんご、あると良いのですが。
Hello Mizue! This shop is indeed amazing and you are right very affordable. And of course I fell in love with a “little blue boy figurine” 🙈 i have one similar made in “occupied Japan” … I did love the “Norwegian Coffee set” 34 pounds. And my yes indeed I fell in love with the “art deco, amber bowl and dessert cups” for 25 🙈 that was so lovely to see I have not seen one like that one, just beautiful. And of course your plate selection is so elegant and the final table presentation of your meal was exquisite! Wow your guests must love to visit you for dinner! You serve guest with excellence! So good to see that Mizue and that you have fun I’m sure, lovely and kind! Thank you once again for sharing your day and yes I saw that happy face indeed when he found the cup and saucer, sorry to hear the item had a crack in it….again be well and I’m glad you are happy with your purchases! Its nice to see more of the two 'stars' of the show. You and your husband both. Also nice to see some rarer patterns of pottery. That place offered some unique items at reasonable prices. Wow if only the Alfred Meakin's set could talk, what stories it might tell.
