Found A Mountain Full of Australian Jade - Chrysoprase
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Chrysoprase is a valuable rare form of chalcedony. The colour and translucency can easily be confused with Jade. In some parts of Asia, top quality pieces is referred to as Imperial Chrysoprase and some even pass it on as Jade. The presence of nickel is what gives it its vivid green coloration.

Watching your clips is one journey that's truly educational. Love it. Thanks for that.
Beautiful! Such a beautiful mineral and so much of it too!!! Lucky you for finding it and thanks for sharing it with us.
Nice video - the color and abundance of the chrysoprase is amazing, you can create really gorgeous jewelry with these stones - lots of love to you, Wal and Pedro!
I think there is enough material there to reveal us the location, please :D
I actually think I prefer the pieces that have unusual inclusions and irregularities. Aside from just finding those stones more visually appealing, I also would be endlessly fascinated by the stories of geology and mineral interactions carried inside a cabochon with lots of interesting irregularities.
What a lovely color! The little grape clusters are my favorites.

Sitting here drinking my morning coffee and spotted a Liz video--OMG, I'd have to hire a semi-truck to load up, that stuff's so beautiful! I actually think those pieces with the moss-like inclusions are very pretty as well, although probably useless for cabbing. Fun video--give the Boss and Pedro a big hug for us from the southern US!

@@LizKreate not sure so much about cyrsophrase but thing's like amethyst it doesn't really matter about the quality it's the fact it's color fade over time. Similar to how gems can be heat treated to change hues and colors. I do know the more green cyrsophrase is the more nickle it has. But yes definitely not knew to the hole rock and gem Collecting been rock hound my entire life. Just like citrine it's the exact same mineral as amethyst only difference is how hot or cool it got while forming so thing's do have an effect on minerals. But yes I enjoyed your video you take care.
I love to buy some.

Hi Liz cool vid - some pieces you showed have glassy cross-section - and look more like prase-opal then chrysoprase. prase-opal is much softer then chrysoprase and has this waxy feeling
@LizKreate
4 жыл бұрын
You're spot on. The area has a lot of green prase opal. A couple pieces on the video that I said might be jade are actually green prase opal. I had them analyze to determine which is Chrysoprase, Chrome chalcedony, variscite and green prase opal. While you're out there on the field, confirmation can sometimes be difficult. Thanks for watching and stay safe. Cheers, Liz
