Agree, it should be mandatory for all racing sims by this point, hopefully they will add it in future updates like AMS2 did.

@@MrSirGiuseppe Being able to turn your head is pretty realistic. I wish there was a "look at apex cam" that allows the camera to move with the steering wheel. I am new to racing games and wish this was an option in cockpit view

Whatever the general consensus about Forza will be. You nailed the stream today.

I was thinking the same, but it's probably that anyone who has early access to the game is more than likely a big racing fan and knows how to race clean, I expect some dirty races until we're able to reach a higher driver and safety rating

Watched a bit of your stream today, and enjoyed the positivity and enthusiasm. Made a nice change from a lot of driving game content. Early days obviously, but penalties seemed to be applied pretty fairly, which is encouraging!

That was damn fine racing, and Online Forza Motorsport never used to be this good.

I’ve been enjoying FM7 along with a few different racing titles on console for ages now, regardless of how others didn’t like FM7, I’ve many 100’s of happy hours on the rig playing it. I’ve a TBI and a spinal injury/nerve damage and the simplicity of the console over PC just makes life that bit easier to enjoy. Just wish TM would hurry up and release a DD for console as my TS-XW is getting in a bit now. Enjoyed the stream today as I’ve been looking forward to this game since last year. Well deserved on the subs today bud. Looking forward to more content.

It's taking me a while to get to grips with the handling after so much time on GT. I do love the practice/quali/race format though. Also impressed you found an online race with more than 3 people in. I've been shocking online so far but haven't finished off the podium..!

Please share your FFB settings (Ingame and Fanatec). I read/ heard from various reviews FFB out of the box is bad, but once it is dialled in correctly it is a lot of fun. I am using the same setup as you and curious to get some inspiration for the FFB settings. Thank you very much in advance.

Rory….you’re brilliant as usual. You have now forced me to get Forza early access.

Terrific game, super fun. I'm 20 hours into it, and I love it. I play the Builder's Cup solo career and the Rivals mode. I dont play online tournaments, but the game needs a permanent internet connection all the same, unfortunately. I recommend a wired connection rather than wireless, as any data interuption might cause the game to get stuck when loading a race. I've felt connected with every car I've driven so far. It's like I'm one with the car, feels amazing. The control is very good with a regular controller. Cars are responsive and physics feel great around corners. I don't have a wheel, but I might end up getting one just for this game for an even higher sense of involvement. Improving your car level and pilot level feels rewarding. The more you drive, the better your drive around the tracks, the more points you get and the faster you evolve as you get access to more performance parts and upgrades, which unlock progressively. You need to work your way to the top, and you become a much better driver in the process. I'm at difficulty 5/8 and choose to start the races from the last place on the grid for a bit of challenge. I win all the races with relative ease, so I might need to raise the difficulty to 6/8. Graphically, I don't like the lack of colours under certain lighting and weather conditions, it all looks washed out, and kind of misty a bit too often. On a clear day, tracks can look great, though. The overall muted colour palette around tracks doesn't apply to cars, which show more vivid colours. Why have Turn10 chosen to go desaturated beyond realistic, I wonder? Maybe a stylistic choice. I don't care for ray tracing. I find it pointless. Would rather dedicate resources to other aspects of the game, like AI. In real life, there are far less reflections than what RT is trying too hard to emulate. No such thing as a mirror effect everywhere in the real world, except perhaps on a rainy day and a wet road. I do appreciate 60fps, makes a huge difference compared to 30fps, which to me is bordering unplayable and doesn't belong in this console generation. I dont see the point of offering this option in a 12 Tflops system, to be honest. I noticed something I didnt like in the replays. When braking before the bends, it shows the wheels strangely locking up in the replay despite driving with ABS on, and the brakes dont turn red as they heat up. Looks bad, especially when the wheels stop turning. The choice of cars is great as it is, but a bit more tracks would be nice. Turn10 say they're working on those, we shall see. Overall, for what I personally value in a racing game, this is a blast. It strikes the perfect balance between arcade and simulation, and you can easily tweak it one way or another with the aids. I give it a solid 9/10, despite the very muted colour palette, small glitches and required permanent connection to play solo, which in the end don't weigh that much in the scales to me.

So I can't reply the campaign after the severs shut down even with a wired connection to my xbox series x ? Casue I will paly the campaign even when it's at the end or after it's life cycle ends if they alow that fingers crossed for that.

If the line is green you are at tehe right speed for the corner - Red means your going too fast and need to slow down a bit until it turns green again

Im so excited for this i get to play in 2 hours because of buying premium add ons package i upgraded my whole sim rig to Moza products and a new next level racing cockpit in anticipation of this very game i can not wait its gonna be a somewhat late night for me i believe ill try ota couple hours sleep before work at least

I literally live to see the last lap where the 2 drivers are fighting for that position. My first multiplayer race wasn't as exciting

Finally no more ACC and GT3 cars on 3 tracks because no one has DLC's! I don't have time for LFM and public lobbies always have players only on Monza, Nurbrugring and Spa. Can't wait for my holiday next week! Also when i'm doing 2:15 on Spa and second person on the grid is 2sec slower it's not fun at all. I've high hopes for good matchmaking.

Sometimes I hate the penalty system. I finished a race in second with a full 1 second lead on third and a half second penalty on me. The podium had me as third saying I had a full 1 second penalty from nowhere. Some bs if you ask me.

What ffb settings are you using in Forza now ?

new forza actually looks really good. with the ranked system, damage/fuel/tire wear in online, and practice/quali, it feels like the game is catered more toward racing fans rather than your typical lethally-divebomb-every-corner forza fan.

I'd love to know how much and what you had to fiddle with wheel and game settings to get the FFB dialed in. Forza has traditionally been trash with a wheel so I'm glad to see it's an improvement.

Yh every video i've seen of wheel drivers have said the base settings for the wheel is trash and it takes time to get it right, but once you do it works much better than previous FM games. Obv it's not to the level of PC sim racers.

Is this game worth getting an Xbox for? I’m kinda burnt out on gt7 and not really enjoying any of the other racers that PlayStation offers if I’m honest

Gotta say, having watched a lot of other reviews about this game, which I've been eagerly anticipating, I've come away pretty disappointed. But just this short video from you really has revived that a good bit! Suppose the difference is in the focus here on the actual racing & strategy and just having a go, where other videos have all been critical about the fine details of the game, comparing it to others and not seeing it in its own light; which doesn't go anywhere near as far to showing the enjoyment the game can bring. Thanks and well done!

Im not sure if you've played yet but definitely pick it up. All the reviews rubbed me the wrong way initially, but they did a fantastic job. I've played forza since motorsport 2 (technically 1 but I kinda just watched people play that one as a child lol), this is definitely my favorite so far. Hokihoshis more recent review is also fairly honest with the game. The physics feel like watered down assetto (in the best way), the sounds, progression, sense of speed etc are all improved. I was really worried, considering how horizon 5 was, that they were gonna butcher it but they did good.

Good for Forza fans. They were in need of good edition of the Motorsport series. It does help to push the genre, with Kudos and Polyphony having the ball on their court for their next releases in a year or two ( ACC2 and GT8 )

I think the racing line overlay cost you that race, especially during that awesome last couple of laps. It seemed to distract you a little.

I would disagree with the thumbnail but it seems like it's finally a decent entry for the xbox.

Anyone here know how the curbs feel especially? I remember them doing not much in previous games and I use them all the time to pre rotate or end a rotation in gt7
