First off, I agree with everything you've said. I followed the game pretty extensively close-ish to release and bought it even knowing that it was gonna be a live service with more content to come in the future. But wow does it ever feel undercooked. It could've easily needed another 2 years in the oven. Especially disappointing are the limited options for custom races. Even Project Cars 2 allowed you to use up to 4 weather slots. Here, "variable" is a really lazy and way too unpredictable implementation. I also have the crashing/infinite loading screen issue and lost lots of career progress, to the point where I don't even play the career anymore. But the game keep crashing and it's even unreliable in multiplayer. Update 1 was released earlier this week and did el zilcho to address anything major. They tweaked the progression a little but it feels like progression is even slower now than previously. Fortunately, the game's infrastructure "should" allow Turn10 to basically fix/address everything, and I'm still somewhat hopeful that improvements are gonna come in the next couple months. But for now (and probably at least until Nordschleife releases next year) this game's gonna don't buy.

Yeah, I've heard about the 'variable' weather thing. It's absolutely one of those things that suggests it wasn't ready for release, because allowing for more granular control wouldn't be difficult. I am pretty certain that since Turn10 is so used to 2 year dev cycles, after they realized they'd have more than that, they ended up overcommitting to major overhauls and changes that they couldn't actually handle. And so despite the dev time, we ended up getting a fraction of what their goals were. I'm willing to give them a chance to fix it, because Turn10 are usually technical masters in many ways. But after Halo Infinite, Redfall, Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, and so many other games released in such messy, empty, or otherwise unfinished states (at this point it's MOST Microsoft exclusives from the last 7 or so years), I'm worried it's a systemic problem that will extend to all of the developers and publishers they've been purchasing.

Featured Multiplayer feels more like a career than builder's cup. Or rather, it would if the other players would actually drive clean. I'm in S 4,700 lobbies getting rammed for days smfh

That's what I've heard. I was anxious to try the multiplayer at first, and see if the ramming culture of previous Motorsport games was quelled in some way here. That interest died after the career issues I had. But it's a shame that their effort to try and make multiplayer cleaner hasn't seemed to have worked particularly well. Still need to watch Super GT's video on what he believes is the core problem that's pushing people to continue ramming (or at least, that's what my assumption is that it's about, based on the thumbnail).

This game won Racing Game of the Year at The Game Awards. Think about that.

Don't like racers at all just watched th whole thing, will say payday 3 was broken for me on gamepass as well I know not directly Ms but uuh this is happening too often.

What about for people who just want to play the game casually? Like just playing the game with a controller and don't care about tuning and tweaking or whatever. Also, the game isn't that bad. It does its job as a casual racer.

People can like the game all they want, for whatever reasons they want. And it has improved, even though they're still lying to people in their update material. But it still only just feels like it's in a state worthy of being launched, as far as I've seen.

Cheer up, it'll get worse over time. MS just spent all their money on ABK. There's no way they'll give Turn 10 enough money to maintain this as a proper live service.

Yeah, I'm kinda worried that's the case. Or that at very least, the money to maintain it will come from relentlessly monetizing the game in some way that hasn't reared its head yet.

What's wrong with rewinding to fix a mistake you've made?

I never said there was anything wrong with that... it shouldn't be used as a crutch to fix bad AI or anything like that, but there's nothing wrong with rewinding.

Honestly any game that's always online that shouldn't be is already grounds being a 0/10 game. Personally, I can't support always online, not when it doesn't make sense. Sucks it affected you so badly. Sucks no one else cares that much about it. Just sucks.

Generally, I definitely agree. Like I said in the video, I like to give a bit of leeway. But there's definitely a point where it's just not right. And given Microsoft/Turn10 have consistently delisted previous Forza games once licensing starts to lapse, I'm not filled with confidence that this game will have much life after whatever 'live service' life they said it would this gen.

@@LibraScope Oh gosh, the delisting! That's so true. I know Turn10 isn't behind the Horizon series, but you can't even buy the Horizon 3 game anymore 'cause it's just removed. That's so scum. Another big named company has been doing that with their sports games, absolutely gross behaviour in the gaming industry.

@@ArcadiaP Yeah, it's really frustrating. To be fair, Gran Turismo Sport is always online, and its servers go down in January I believe. But it came out the same year as Forza Motorsport 7, and it lasted two years longer (I suspect it'll be delisted after the servers go down, because you can't do much in offline mode). But like, I'd really enjoy going back to Motorsport 5 if I had an Xbox, or 6/7 on PC, and I just can't. Horizon 4 is probably not that far away from delisting. It's just nonsense.
