Forza Horizon 4 Drag race: McLaren 720s vs Porsche 918 Spyder

Hello everyone and welcome back to the series of Forza Horizon 4 standing/rolling races and today we got a hypercar head-to-head race, featuring the fastest Porsche on a straight line, the 918 Spyder, and the fastest McLaren only surpassed by the P1 and the Senna, the McLaren 720s,lets take a look at their specifications.
Starting by the newer car: The McLaren 720s.
The McLaren 720s is the second-generation of McLaren's super series, replacing the McLaren 650s for model year 2018. It uses a redesigned 3.8 L twin-turbocharged V8 which is placed in the middle, it outputs 710 hp at 7000 rpm and 568 lb.ft of torque at 5500 rpm. It uses a 7-Speed dual-clutch transmission that sends the power to the rear wheels and it weighs 1338 kg (which is 90 kg less than its predecessor)
Next, we have the 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder. The 918 Spyder is a hybrid hypercar created by Porsche to replace the Carrera GT as Porsche's newest top line performance car. It was known as first road legal car that breaks the 7 minute barrier on the Nurburgring by setting a laptime of 6:57, yet its still the fastest Porsche on the straight to date even after the release of the 911 GT2 RS and other Porsche high performancecars, but anyways. The 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.6 L Naturally Aspirated flat-crank V8 which is placed in the middle, the V8 delivers 608 hp and 389 lb.ft of torque, and is supplemented by two electric motors delivering an additional 279 hp, giving the car a total power outut of 887 hp and at least 829 lb.ft of torque. The 918 Spyder has a 7-Speed dual-clutch transmission that sends the power to all the wheels, and it weighs 1675 kg.

Thanks mate :). But the 720s can be called a super saiyan version of the McLaren 650s 😁, because the 720s succeeds the 650s.

yea but in Forza the p1 and LaFerrary are better because rear wheel drive is to op in a drag race in forza (when the have grip). But iam in team 918 💪

Real life the 720S wins pass 150 mph The 918 does 9.8@145 mph The 720S does 9.9@148 mph So after 1/4 mile,the 720S would beat it. Also,the 720S could probably go 350 kmh or more,seeing how even a 570S can hit over 340 kmh.

And the 918 does 0-330 kmh in 25.8 seconds The McLaren does 0-328 kmh in 23.2-23.5,so the 0-330 kmh is 23.6-23.7 or in most Extreme slow,23.8 So yes,720S win from 150-200+ mph

Khari Pierre The 0-60 or 0-120 times are not even close to real life. It’s completely irreverent to compare a video game to real life. Especially when it comes to specific details like acceleration times.

The 918 sounds like a 4 cylinder from an android video game at low rpms. But after 6000 rpm, it sounds a little bit like the real thing.
I am missing Forza 7 drag races... 😥

@@vinuvarghese6374 It won't run as smooth as you think. Even at low settings the game will still stutter so, you need a gaming PC to run this game on 1080p60 or above, but gaming PCs are not as cheap :) so, get an Xbox one X if you can get it :)

Why are there so short runways at forza horizon 4?

The 720s should pull away in the rolling race. Road and track tested the 720s and got a quarter mile of 9.9 sec @148.2 mph. When caranddriver tested the 918 spyder, they got 9.8 @145, which is a quicker time, but lower trap speed. the 720s should pull away this game is wrong.

It did pull on the 918 on Forza 7 though. On Forza Horizon 4, most of AWD cars feel so fast and overpowered

ok so, first off, in the desc you say it's "hypercar head-to-head", well, the 720s is NOT a hypercar. it is a supercar. an absurd one, but a supercar. also yes in fact 918 does beat the 720s irl. nice video if not counting the mistake for 720s in the desc.

In my Forza 7 videos, the 720s was faster than the 918 so, i lined them up on FH4 to see if the results are different...and yes they are different.

the 918 is an incredible car, but no way in real life will it pull like this on a 720S. the latter runs high 9's and so does the 918. would be a lot closer. but great video as always !
Let’s be real, forza just hates all McLaren’s except the p1, in real life, the 720 would have gave the 918 nightmares after 180 mph

hell, the 720s nearly beats the 918 in the quarter mile on a normal surface (not drag strip). The 720s does 9.9 @148.2 and the 918 does 9.8 @145. After the quarter mile, the 720s pullls away.

After 180 mph!? Haha...no. After 150 mph,the 720S would get the lead,and the 0-330 kmh for 918 is 25.8 The 720S 0-328 kmh is 23.2,it would get to 330 kmh in about 23.4-23.5 So,The McLaren wins.

Azaan SCPD Ultimate Enforcer nah this test is fairly accurate. Dragtimes raced a 918 in a half mile and the 918 trapped higher every time. Search it up

in real life, they have very similar times, both have run high 9's in the 1/4 mile. a drag race will depend deeply on the conditions and drivers. it could go either way.
918 definitely would’ve lost top end in real life

Yeah but the 720s would get there first because the 918 shuts its electric motors off at 160mph leaving it with only the gas engine and the 720s would fly past it

This is a video game not real life, In real life the 720s came real close to the 918, also forza still has a problem with overpowering AWD cars.
