I remember the feeling that every weekend was guaranteed all-day entertainment (because the meta was crazy and the players were good). I don't like the current meta (and map tbh) as much as a player, so I can't enjoy watching comp as much as previous seasons.

Imagine if we had the World Cup meta right now the pros will go crazy

I agree with everything in this video except the meta. Yes everything back then when listed individually seems like a nightmare, but if everything is crazy broken and outlandish, then that problem solves itself. It was just a fun way to play, you'd heavy snipe someone and then get rpgd back.

Whether you like it or not, I feel like the end of season 9 when pumps returned was the best comp meta. Yeah it was annoying sometimes, but that is what makes fortnite fortnite.

Yeah. It had the most weapons and items of all seasons. That's what's missing in chapter 2. Now the meta is as balanced as possible and it bores me

Fortnite isnt fortnite anymore I can’t even open a chest and feel happy that’s what made this game great having to open a chest and get a gold gun every game now you have to run around and upgrade or land somewhere that a npc with a purple pump or else you get stuck with a green pump the entire game . they messed up the loot pool and on top of that they remove 100 percent chest spawn . Season 10 went down hill because epic let their sponsors take over and add things to change the fighting meta like I can careless what they add just why change the loot pool I’m tired of opening 10 chest and getting the same green gun every time .

At 6:51 you were talking about those items, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that those items are what made us fall in love with the game to begin with. Those items are the things that made Fortnite into Fortnite. I personally think they should have kept those items in because they made the game fun and not just sweaty

World cup may not have been sustainable, and some items were... questionable. But the overall season and hype made world cup so good, if WC was up to today standards and Epic changed the loot pool a bit (and if the map wasnt boring as fuck), it would bring so many viewers

at 1:26 there was a mistake, they had never announced being able to qualify from home before this, but in some tourneys it was an unannounced prize. One example was ZexRow's teammate from Winter Royale. He had never played a scrim or made a dollar off of the game before, and he got in because he won a supposedly 0 prize tourney.

@@cozmic_3338 probably but u know, the wc quals were such fun to watch and for everybody, it was a cool chill time and it built up the hype for the wc. The next world cup will definitely not be that rememberd, cause I mean why should someone casual watch it. The meta and map doesn't really change at all and it's boring. Players would also trash talk for hours after the wc. I personally would love to see this meta returning, cause it was my fav meta and I would not be the only one.

One thing you should have mentioned is that the Mythic Drumgun had an even faster fire-rate xD I mean obviously the current meta/lootpool is more suited for competetive but it is also insanely boring to watch as a viewer. It consists almost exclusively of back and forth wall retaking and Pump edit shots. People can also just box up and turtle freely because there are no strong countermeasures. It wasn't balanced but it was spectacular to see pros counter and overcome the staggering odds in the form of traps, drumguns, stinkbombs, port-a-rifts etc. And the Combat was balanced since it took three shots to kill someone. Yeah, they could hit people for good damage from highground but the Pump was still superstrong and easy to find (green/blue). This Combat OP parotting needs to stop. But still, good video man. Sub

Exactly, a lot of people say the combat was op, but call the gold pump balanced, just cause they were too dumb to hit their shots with the combat and then they encounter a player with good aim they are getting killed. The wc qualifiers drum gun got nerfed pretty fast, so idk why he even mentions that. Op Aim assist also was only in ch2 S2.

@@cash5512 exactly. These people have bonded over being just completely unfair towards Chapter 1 Seasons and praising Chapter 2 Seasons for things they couldn't even deliver. Where did this madness begin? Only a year ago, Chapter 2 Season 2 was rightfully called the worst Season FOR GOOD reasons and now these kids are more nostalgic and blinded about it than any Chapter 1 player could ever be. It's just stupid and why I quit this hypocritical, immature fakeass community.

If there is a 2022 World Cup with a massive prize pool and Fortnite announces it way in advance with no money in the qualification stages just a little bit in Semis and the rest in Finals, I feel it would bring a lot of people back to the game. Of course they'd have to announce it way in advance because there's no point in people being given like 1 month notice to get good at a game that they likely wont make money from, and at least if there's some money in Semi's it will give hope for people to try and for former pros to come back.

It was fun and still competitive

memory wise, the original summer skirmish in 2018 summer was the best experience

ik im late but i wanna say this the loot pool was good i thibk everyone loved it cuz fights were curious u didnt know who u came up against they ewere fun guns might be op but were really fun basically having anunexpected loot pool with couple of op items is good and fun cuz nowadays people normally carry intourneys a pump,ar/smg and healables

there was literally ballers and all crazy things in the world cup qualifier, now in season 7 pros become crybabies when something unique gets added

now that i look at it, the combat shotgun was good. i always thought it was a bad shotgun (maybe because i had a very bad aim in season 9-10)

I think that S9 was one of the best just because of rotation. I'm not that good at fighting but I am good at endgame so I want more rotation back.
