Fort Delaware / Civil War POW Weekend

Come with us as we explore Fort Delaware, which was built in the mid 1800's as a defensive fortification protecting Philadelphia and Wilmington. During the Civil War it was used as prison, housing upwards of 12,000 prisoners just after the battle of Gettysburg. My plan was to capture The Liberty Rifles as they took over with living history that weekend, but we just missed them.

It got so hot in the prison barracks at night with my wool stuff on that I tried to sleep outside to get a cool breeze. Soon I found myself under attack by like a million gnats lol
