It’s great. I’m in the process of putting a room full of piano music on it. Also I’m sick and tired of trying to search my paper library . It’s organised but…

Hi Adam...I'm a new keyboard player. I play primarily chords, (strings, brass, synth) in live performances in Vegas using mini iPad and GarageBand. For now just to start, I have created word documents (very cumbersome) for my set lists with the basic keys for each song. Can I purchase (or get free) sheet music through forScore (or where do you recommend) that shows me the keyboard notes in alpha format ( I don't read music) and also lists the lyrics so I know where I am in the song? I plan on getting the iPad pro to use forScore and keep using the iPad mini for my GarageBand. Thank you in advance!

Good afternoon and sorry I missed your comment! They do have some services you can buy music through but honestly I have never looked at it. You can import music from anywhere, it just imports a PDF file. It doesn't have any "play along" features where it shows where in the music you are, it is mainly just an app to organize and display your music.

Hi Adam. My daughter is learning the flute. I am looking for an app that would allow her to insert the notes from her homework and she can do a play-along with the app in a configurable tempo. It would be good to have a folder structure for stored songs and preferably a visual display that resembles normal musical sheets as opposed to notes that just whizz by, so she can also practice overview, look-ahead and take in the whole musical phrase she's playing. The most important thing is to be able to play along at an adjustable tempo, though. Did you come across any apps in the making of this video, or otherwise, that comes to mind?

Hey, this is a great question and I don't know if there is something that is exactly what you are looking for but this might be close. There is a service that used to be called Smart Music, now called MakeMusic at MakeMusic.com. They have a 30 day free trial and it is about $60/year which really isn't bad. They have just about all major music books and thousands of solos and band music. I could go on for quite a while with all the features it has but if you have a song that isn't in there or is a special assignment, they have a compose feature that allows you to input the notes. You can play along with it after and it shows where it is, you can turn on a metronome and change the tempo. In the band pieces you can have it leave your part out or keep it in and you can have it record yourself while playing and show what notes you played wrong. This is probably the closest if not exactly what you are looking for!!

Hello! My primary reason for seeking this new tech is because music is becoming harder for me to see. (bad eyes) Does this app allow for a user to enlarge the music for easier reading? Or does it expand beyond the edges of the screen meaning I'd have to scroll side to side to side?

Hello!! It’s not what I call a dynamic zoom where you zoom in and it resizes automatically. It’s a static zoom because it’s really just a high end PDF viewer geared towards musicians. When you zoom in, it definitely becomes larger but it does expand beyond the edges so you have to move it around as needed.

@@AdamOnTech I have found that if I turn the iPad horizontal, the notes are much larger and it splits each page into two pages.

I know there are some out there but at the moment I can not give any opinions on the sheet music readers. However, I will work on testing some and find one that holds up and post about it!
