I've been fortunate enough to ride this coaster back in 2014, and I really loved it. The launch is exhilarating and the last airtime hills are great, however the middle of the ride left a bit to be desired. The speed is great, but it felt like it only went fast for the sake of going fast and not really doing anything interesting with it. Also the sense of speed is kinda hampered by the fact that you're essentially in an empty sandy field with no scenery whizzing past you, giving that extra sensation of speed. However that launch alone makes the ride for me, and is the main reason it snugly fits in my Top 5.

I agree the empty desert does sort of hurt, but I found the S-hills to still have good airtime.

Someday, hopefully. I love launches, so this is high on my bucket list. Merry Christmas!

I disagree, the tophat doesn't intimidate me because you don't feel a drop because of the stupid twisting drop

This summer I rode this once in one of the middle rows. The launch is hard to describe. I have a memory of the rest of the layout, not of the launch itself. The kick is strong but sustained. The sense of speed and the g forces make this coaster. Compared to Flying Aces this is way more graceful. After Rock and Rollercoaster this was a great new record in acceleration.

I love that launch.

The launch alone is absolutely worth the journey to the UAE. Completely agree that the trim brakes barely take away from the ride experience. You're still going so fast that you can't hear yourself screaming until the crest of the third hill. I'm glad you offered some perspective on the back row, because after our front row ride, there was no way we were going to go for any other row.

I tried the back once, but then stuck with the front. I couldn't pass up the blast of wind.

Awesome review! This is definitely on my bucket list! I think that I would absolutely LOVE this ride because I am a sucker for speed. Are you going to make a top 25 soon?

Absolutely!

I'm in the UK so the fastest launch I've experienced is on Stealth at Thorpe Park which does 0-80mph in 1.8 seconds, one of the fastest accelerations on an xcelerator and I must admit it's intense and I love that. Can't imagine how fast this would feel, I hope to get to ride it some day!

I mean, the UNTRIMMED portion is likely faster than Kingda Ka overall. It's like the trim on Maverick - see ElToroRyan to find out the important purpose of the trim

And for good reason!

I'm worried about this coaster. Last year, this seemed to be the last major Accelerator without any reliability issues, but how things change. I was bummed to hear that Coaster Studios missed it, but I'm honestly scared because no coaster is closed "until further notice" for no proper reason. This ride could disappear faster than Kingda Ka or Accelerator (excuse the pun). There will be a time when hydraulic and air launch coasters are unable to match LSM technology, but we will not see that time for decades, and I really hope this coaster survives until then.

I have no clue why it's currently closed, but we've seen accelerator coasters have extended closures before. Some like Storm Runner have been closed for a year and reopened without much downtime.

I actually like i in the back just because of the wind in the front. Its just too intense and it makes it hard to enjoy the actually speed, in the back you get blasted by wind still but not as much and you get you enjoy its insane speed.

Man roller coasters these days are feats of engineering! I mean, the world's fastest coaster has roughly the same speed as most planes during takeoff. The worlds fastest accelerating coaster has roughly the same acceleration of an aircraft carrier catapult launch. It really just goes to show how much effort goes into designing and building such simulations for people who cannot experience these feelings in real life!

It really is amazing.

We need a B&M in UAE. I’m desperate for a hyper or even a giga. UAE did deals with Intamin in Abu Dhabi and Mack / Gerstlauer in Dubai where they have installed those at multiple parks. Not a single B&M here makes me sad (don’t get me wrong I LOVE Mack but B&M is my ultimate especially of latter years)

UAE is lucky to even have an Intamin! The Philippines has no new coasters, the only upcoming coaster is a Mack family spinner that probably won't even be built!

Extreme mack spinners, Mack Hyper coaster or even a multi launch, but that is pretty much impossible as Philippines isnt the richest country sadly, I would love another Big edition!

Do you think 6-7 hours is enough time at Ferrari World for an enthusiast that just wants to ride the coasters multiple times but doesn't really care about the car stuff? I have 3 days in UAE before flying to England and I want to fit all the good amusement parks in those days, so I have to cut down on time at each park.

Ferrari World has a skip-the-line pass is absolutely necessary, but lines were pretty much non-existent when I was there. Formula Rossa maxed out at a 20 minute wait (weekday in February, 1 train ops). All the coasters can comfortably be done in six hours with rerides. Make sure to visit WB World across the street. The coaster lineup is nothing special, but the theming and dark rides there are Disney quality.

If you don't mind could you please give me some tips? @@aussiecoasterenthusiast7561 Are you a big water park fan? If not, I'd recommend doing Yas Waterworld first thing. I got there at opening and did every slide within an hour. My only issue was meeting the weight requirement on Falcon's Falaj. It was really strict. How are you planning on getting around? I would recommend maybe starting with IMG and then going to Abu Dhabi so you can do those two days back to back.

@@CanobieCoaster I don't really care much about water parks, the main reason I'm going is for the coaster however I will ride the slides. So are you saying I should do Yas Waterworld in the morning of day 3 and Movie world for the rest of the day? Because that would probably make a lot more sense considering I wouldn't need too long at the water park. I'm planning on staying at a nice hotel at Yas Island the whole time as my family will be coming and my coaster-hating mom will be at the hotel the whole time without going to any parks, and she would not want to be moving around hotels. I'm planning on just using a car to get around. I'll take your advice! Thank you so much!

@@aussiecoasterenthusiast7561 I used Uber over there because of how cheap they were. Not sure if it would work for you as well. FunWorks tends to stay open really late. I went before covid, but it was open until 11 or 12 at night if I remember correctly. There are also a few mall credits in Dubai that are usually open until 12 or 1 as well. Yas Waterworld definitely doesn't need a full day if the credit is your priority. I'd say to knock there out first and then spend the rest of the day at Ferrari World, assuming that's your top priority. That would let you spend as much time as needed at WB World and then you could decide to park hop to another park later that day.

My friend once said that this feels like a launched B&M hyper.

My best guess is that in order for this ride to rollback, it would need to be running at a speed WAY lower than the launch speed so it has plenty of time to decelerate.

8:56 Somewhere in the top 10? Try top 3. If it's slowed down to 90 miles per hour at the top, it'll be going 115 miles per hour (Top Thrill Dragster's actual average speed) at the bottom of the drop, and if it's slowed down to 100 miles per hour at the top, it'll be going 123 miles per hour (5 miles per hour faster than Kingda Ka's actual average launch speed). That's insane. I know this is a very late comment, but still.

I bought 2 day park-hoppers for this park, WB World, and Yas Waterworld. So I could bounce between them. Ferrari World start to finish is a one day park. I did two half days.

On another note: notice how the biggest drop of "Falcon's Flight" spends more time pulling out during the light tunnel. It's as though they have the $ but don't understand how to use forces properly. Merry Winter Solstice or whatever religion you use to celebrate it. I still celebrate Christmas because my mom knew how to pick her battles so Merry Christmas, Canobie Coaster!
