Il n'y a que lui pour porté ce casque de pilote auto avec des yeux pareil aussi fantastique . Il avait absolument tout pour lui dont le don inné pour le pilotage auto, et devenir le futur champion du monde après son mentor Jackie Stewart. Mais moi je vous le dit ce circuit où il a fait sa dernière course y est pour beaucoup sur la sécurité critique et les procédures de cette fin aussi tristement tragique et insoutenable, comme l'a vécu ce malheureux Helmuth Koinigg un an après. Si la sécurité a l'époque se souciait de ces braves pilotes il est probable qu'il aurait pas eu autant de pilotes décédés dans ce sport. Cette beauté divine et intelligence aurait fait une merveilleuse carrière et popularité. Il est partie dans sa jeunesse figée éternellement.

@@FVever C est vrai , il était merveilleusement beau , incroyablement courageux , d une extrême gentillesse , un regard à se noyer , un sourire à se damner , un timbre de voix et une façon de s exprimer qui font que nous pouvions l écouter parler pendant des heures , bref il n y avait vraiment rien à jeter chez François , oui mais voilà la vie est cruelle parfois , après lui avoir tout donné elle lui a tout repris ... Il manque .

He went round a corner too quickly, hit a guard rail, lost control and the car got sliced up by the other guard rail. A mistake. It was sad.

@@annnee6818 personne n'a été témoin et aucune caméra a filmé cet insoutenable accident, donc personne n'est légitime pour donné son avis, on ne sais pas ce qu'il s'est passé réellement, même l'avis des pilotes ne sont que théorie, et il faut pas oublier que ce circuit a l'époque était extrêmement dangereux, même les pilotes les plus confirmés étaient menacé par ce circuit .

Toute une époque..., insouciance, liberté, ...la vie quoi

The Watkins Glen guard rails have Always been the worst constructed GR's in the world. When a car side swipes them, the bolts break and the GR's fall on the ground exposing the car posts to the posts. They end up being a chain saw. I have seen a Corvette sid3eswip the rails at the top of the Esses and lay 100 feet of rail on the ground. If they are hit at a steep angle like in the Cevert crash and the NASCAR crash where the Boot re-enters the originals course, they not only fall on the ground but tare apart leaving blunt ends to tare the car and driver to pieces. They are laid out to bounce the cars from side to side like a pin ball. i.e. the NASCAR crash at turn two. In the decades I went to the Glen starting in the late 60's, nobody at that track has given any thought to driver safety. They think installing rails is all they have to do whether they work or not. At the end of the straight where the chicane is now, they should have had multiple strings of tires that would decelerate a car which would have saved McDuffie's life and Kendall's legs. And then there is Helmut Koning's head to consider. "Two Dimensional Reactors" instead of "Three Dimensional Thinkers."
