Forming the perfect sectional screw flights all the time every time - no experience necessary

Ғылым және технология

www.advspiraltech.com - AST's Super Tyro screw flight forming machine forming screw flights where the pitch is larger than the outside diameter. AST's latest technology means that these flights can be formed perfectly in seconds. Both ends match exactly and the helix can been turned either way with the form being identical.
Forming these flights using previous methods would take an experienced operator 5 plus minutes and then true form and exact end match up was never gauranteed. AST's system eliminates the need for experienced operators and can form any combination of screw flight perfectly in 60 seconds or less.

    Very neat. I remember watching our men making screw sections when I was a kid. A stack of disks were put into the coke forge, heated and then pressed. Your system is so much more efficient.

    Hi Clayton, Our system has been developed with accuracy and efficiency in mind but at the same time we always had an eye on worker safety and satisfaction. Our TruHelix system either eliminates or significantly reduces any number of the unsafe, hot and hard work aspects of traditional sectional screw flight manufacturing methods. Operators now enjoy this work and I have experienced instances where guys argue amongst themselves to take on the job, where as perviously the would argue to get out of the job. Best Regards AST

    Our TruHelix sectional screw flight manufacturing system, which this machine is an integral part of, will efficiently manufacture any flighting that you require for Post Hole Diggers. Our system is for sectional screw flights which means they are manufactured in per pitch segments and will need to be welded to a centre pipe/shaft and then welded together to form a continuous helix. I hope this helps. Best Regards AST Team

    Hi Dru, The operator will enter all of the finished flight dimensions into the touch screen on the machine and the PLC will then calculate all appropriate machine settings for the accurate forming of the said flights, including the forming gap. At this point the reliance on the operator to consistently return to the same position and apply the same pressure is eliminated because the machine returns to exactly the same forming position every time ensuring consistent forming of the flight. Thank you Previously helical screw flights have been primarily formed by “pitch” dependent dies in various forming machines. The accuracy and consistency of the helical form was largely a function of the die pitches, the experience of the operator and the accuracy of the cut annulus from which the helix was formed. All of this cloaked the black art that was “Flight Forming”. Our technology makes screw flight manufacture quick, easy and perfect all the time every time regardless of experience.

    How does the operator know how much to rotate for each bend?

  • @pandjnixon

    @pandjnixon

    7 жыл бұрын

    It doesn't matter really, so long as the operator does not rotate it too much, because the press tooling's anvil and punch dies, are shaped to the flight's finished profile, and so long as there is an overlap between the flight metal of each forming stroke cycle, then the finished flight will end up conforming to the required shape ! So there you have it !

    Thank you for this very interesting video. What an effective way to make the screw from sheet metal! My question is: why do you have a guy in there doing all the work ? Are you already thinking about using an industrial robot ? It looks like a good application for a robot as the task is noisy, monotonous, requires precision and involves heavy lifting. The same robot could even be used to weld the sections together if it had a tool-changer to swap from a gripper to a Mig welder. Then the guy could do the fun stuff like designing or testing the screws. :)
