Now in my late 70's and basically lived in Sydney for that period. Good that you found the Manly Ferry trip - much cheaper than a harbour cruise and more relaxing. Another good trip is to Mosman, which takes you into a narrow Harbour bay on an ordinary commuter ferry. It's just a there and back, but very different views of a part of Sydney most tourists miss. There's a cafe which sells light food while you relax and look out onto a peaceful view

Well done going to Manly. It is my favourite Sydney beach. That probably is because I spent my first 12 months in Manly and my family then moved into a new house in North Manly. This was in 1950 and our new house had a long wait for tiles for the roof so we had a Malthoid (tar paper) roof for my second year on the planet until the tiles turned up. There are many great beaches north of Manly including Harbord, Curl Curl, Collaroy, Narrabeen, Mona Vale, etc up to Palm Beach. And one bus trip from Wynyard in the city will take you to most of these beaches. Mike in Oz

Perhaps when/if you get back, drop me a line here and I'll run you out there and show you around for a whole day. I hope you enjoy your next city....Melb, or Brissy? If you can, do WA it's stunning. I'll sub to see what you guys get up to next. Enjoy OZ while you're here! 😎

@@nickandrachelrecommend well, I've done it for other people coming from overseas before, and being a proud Aussie I do enjoy going up to the Blue Mountains, as I don't live there. It's always a nice opportunity to go for a drive and there are some excellent places to eat and view the various look outs

You didn't butter the toast when you had Vegemite. It tastes best with hot buttered toast and also it goes well with a slice of cheese.

That makes sense considering we'd eat marmite with butter. Unfortunately, this time around our accommodation didn't provide butter, only vegemite and PB.

Coogee is pronounced like you said it 1st. Like "could-g" Coog-ee.

Coogee is pronounced as Could-jee. Like I could. This is for Coogee in Sydney, not the one in Perth.

@@nickandrachelrecommend There is no way to know it until someone local tells you. I had the same thing in Perth when I pronounced Coogee in the Sydney way and was corrected by a Perth local.
