I once clipped into the wall in either dry bones or cheesland I can’t remember which, by spamming gold mushroom at a weird bit of geometry because I was bored and softlocked myself in the infinite void

if he didn't get blueshelled in baby park he would've gotten "6:42.633"

My summer has been incredibly busy. I've been traveling and working on the new WR history video, which should be released within a week or two! I should be back to regular speedrunning in September (the new booster tracks are amazing!) However, since the Blue Yourself video became so popular, I have a feeling that people expect only history videos on this channel. I worry a little about posting my normal speedruns on this channel but I guess I'll just have to play it by ear.

Why dont you take the coins instantly when you get them in an item box? Shouldn't it just make you faster?

Depends on the situation. When you reach 10 coins, you've gained the maximum speed boost. Using more coins after that doesn't do anything. A good strategy to have in first place is to keep a coin in your first item slot and then a defensive item in your second item slot. Sometimes CPU will use Boo, and will steal your first item. If that happens, you still have your defensive item in case a red/green shell comes shortly after. If you have a coin as an item and you don't already have the 10 coins, yes you should be using it right away. However, if the ONLY item you have IS a coin, you're guaranteed to get a defensive item on your next item. Sometimes I will hold on to it, so that I can prepare the strat I mentioned above (especially if there's coins spawning on the track that I know are coming up). Hope that answers your question.

@@FastFitnessForever We haven't tested every single map, at least as far as I know, but that is because I don't think there even can be a faster setup.
