Truly many in America are isolationists and more like ostriches who want not to see or know what is going on... Except when somehow their hate can be manipulated by some news and political organizations to a level that is more cult-like or mob-style deplorable party... Because they " Will do their own research." (NOT!) Yet to back their pathetic biased attitude and not find any relevant information that will go against their own idealism and one-sided view...

At this point it’s already baked into people’s opinions and we don’t need to hear yet another interview where the focus is on January 6th. Secondly, she gave him an opportunity to speak freely about his support, or lack thereof, of Donald Trump and he politely declined to go there. As the interviewer, not the interviewee, nobody cares what she thinks, and her job is not to become the focus of the interview. I applaud her for not engaging in activist journalism. If everyone engaged in these types of neutral interviews maybe the public would still trust the media.

I am no fan of Trump but your assertion is political hyperbole nonsense. A few hundred radicals (out of 340 million Americans) that Trump did not organize or control or insight to violence at the capitol was not an attempt to overthrow the USA.

Bob Gates is absolutely right. Western governments and especially ours talk too much. What happened to the elements of surprise in a war? I was taken aback last year when western governments and Ukraine themselves continually talked about their offensive and were naïvely dismissive of the Russian’s preparations. I’m not sure why anyone thought that Putin would have folded like aluminum wrap and allowed Ukraine a walk in the park.

I’m glad now to hear Gates using his voice to share this wisdom in our current foreign affairs crises. I hope Biden and Trump listen to him, and the base of both parties cool their heads with each other so we can get through this in one piece.

Pres. Biden has united NATO, raised the alarm about the authoritarian threat to us and our allies, and is showing strong support for Ukraine. Yes, the message needs to be emphasized, but his actions -including the Inflation Reduction Act, the Chips Act, the Infrastructure Act and much more show rather than tell. Actions speak louder than words.

The CIA always prioritizes spending Americans money destabilizing countries and killing people in foreign countries rather than actually protecting Americans. They serve our corporate overlords, not the American people. Gates represents the bipartisan nature of enriching the military industrial complex, avoiding accountability for repeated failure and of course supporting forever wars. He clearly supports nuclear armageddon over a reduced American hegemony. Everyone loses world war 3. The system works.

I am a centrist Democrat. I’d never vote for Trump. President Biden has done a good job as president but he has not been able to get that point across in almost four years. Is it his age? Is it how old he looks? All I know is that preventing Trump from getting a second presidency is too important to leave to such an obviously weak candidate and campaign. No-one can tell you what 4 more years of Biden would be. Nor can they tell you what 3.5 years of Biden has been. President Biden and Vice President Harris should gracefully bow out. Kamala Harris should be nominated for the Supreme Court. It is time to draft California Governor Newsom at the convention. Pete Buttigieg or someone else can be his vice president. They should run on a slogan “Middle Class Time is Now,” and run on the following issues: #1 Big Middle Class Tax Cut #2 Bring down the Cost of Living 1. Bring house prices down by getting more housing built 2. Beat Inflation #3 Fight for Freedom and the Rule of Law 1. More Defense spending to grow our Navy and fight against the global menace of Authoritarianism. 2. Make Roe the Law of the land 3. Fight for the Rule of Law at home and abroad upholding the Rules Based International System. #4 Safe America: 1. Hire 100,000 more cops to fight crime. 2. Urban Peace Corp: Jobs for people to work 911First responders for people with mental illness 3. Protect Social Security for our seniors. #5 Middle Class Opportunity 1. Big Tax credits for college 2. Big tax credits to start a small business 3. Leverage this money to force colleges to DECREASE tuition
