They are bickering, instead of banding together to demand 100% control of their resource revenue, as is the case in all advanced economies. In Canada, oil producing Province of Alberta controls 100% of their resource revenue. In the US, oil producing States of Alaska and Texas control 100% of their resource revenue. Rivers people are the worst victims of Northern strategy of divide and rule. Rivers people were carved out of Eastern Region. Then, they were given special identity, and made to feel special. They were empowered to isolate themselves. And in their isolation, their resource revenue is freely siphoned away. When we were in the University, Northern students constantly received handsome bursaries, but Southern students got nothing. And we used to question if it was really One Nigeria? Also, we often teased Rivers indigenes why the scenario looked normal to them. Rivers people are special kinds of MUMU.

Here in Canada, Democracy and Politics is actually about job creation, increasing industrial activities, boosting food production, and providing quality social services.
