I voted remain because I was concerned about potential future wars. I explained this to an ex friend. She said "there won't be any more wars." I knew the "savings" from leaving the EU would not be spent on the NHS; it was obvious defence spending would need to increase.

There were no savings. Brexit has led to a 40 billion reduction in government revenue (because of a 100-150 billion reduction in the size of the economy). So there's less money to spend. We also need to spend tens of billions on new paperwork (split between government and private sector). Immigration needs to be higher (because it's a less efficient kind of immigration) and costs more. And that's without even talking about the loss of personal rights and freedoms.

Why can't we have this quality of individual in politics? Led by Donkeys. It's beyond a joke now, we need radical change to our democratic system to get some of the the best minds in government and in opposition.

@@mogzybuster The ONLY TOPIC IS IMMIGRATION. I was in Luton town a month ago and did not see a single white face in the entire town. All other topics can wait. There are Africans and Asians just off the boat or plane walking all over the place and unless you move your behind and vote for Farage they will take over the entire nation. That is the reality of the situation! so stop your nonsense People simply have to get off their backside today and vote REFORM.

@@mogzybuster And with Trotsky in charge? I think in two or three years we will go cap in hand to the IMF. You really believe that putting these communist losers in charge of everything will fix things? Lammy insulting Trump etc? Instead of burning clean coal (for which we have 200 year reserves under our feet) they want to create this enormously expensive "state company for green energy" costing many many billions. They want to means test the old age pension. They want to tax Shell and BP who may as a consequence de-list, so I ask you: what is the point of working and saving money? Their and your ideologically driven ideas will scare all of the winners out of these islands because we are more capable than the losers please remember that. Just like the poor third world migrants coming here for benefits and miserable jobs, we can also emigrate and take our ideas and riches elsewhere to enrich a different part of the world.

They can't, really, because they don't stick to the rule of law. The whole point is that hierarchy determines who is right, not the law. That means that a treaty with an autocratic nation isn't worth the paper it is printed on. Most of the progress since WW2 has come on the foundation of binding international legal systems that make treaties more reliable. Without that, you can't build big, reliable alliances like NATO or the EU. That would not be a complete disaster for very large countries, like the US, China, India and Russia, but it would be for smaller countries, including the UK.

Not so. Just like the US CIA, MI6 is totally involved in misinformation narratives. For example, do you really believe that Russia provoked the War in Ukraine when in fact it started years ago when Clinton expanded NATO Eastward violating their promise to Russia and Russia for YEAR stated Ukraine was the absolute Red line. Like the US, citizens in the UK are constantly lied to with misinformation narratives daily. In fact the British press is much worse than the US which is also really bad. People have to be really gullible to believe that Britons problems are primarily the fault of Russia and now with China added to the mix.
