If you suspend (as SBF did) the need to be moral, ethical and legal, it opens many opportunities that are closed to others.

Great interview. I hope the prosecution are able to apply as much knowledge as Zane has when questioning Sam, if he's likely to take the stand.

So this person was hired and got paid by the same people who stole other people's money yet no one questioned his credability? If a normal person was involved in a criminal company why would any of us believe them?

i dont understand why everyone thought SBF was so smart , He reminds me of a sleezy landlord in brooklyn that over charges people for rent LoL

all the employees are guilty. they got paid to assist in the scam and live like hobbits in extreme grifter land. Shifting blame and knowing only makes them look guilty and moronic for exposing themselves

If, as Warren Buffett (top investor) has said, "crypto is worthless" then you have a seller (SBF) selling a worthless product, and buyers/lenders/investors buying worthless product. The problem is that SBF profitted from a worthless product. He profitted from the hype of deregulation which mainly only appeals to criminals. SBF will go to jail, so he will not profit, his assets will be sold and the buyers will get their investments back, an no more, so NO ONE will have profitted at all and that's just a crazy waste of time and energy. If, as your guest has said, crypto is about having the right to opt out of regulation and AML and KYC policies, then do people who have lost their money to people like SBF have the right to ask for a trial and ask the Court get their money back? SBF proved that he is a man who could not or would not make good on his promised rate of return AND he would also take much more than his small exchange cut. Men like that must be "regulated."

I won't be suprised if you realize the similar type of the interview about CZ... obviously they are nonchalant about these things happening which is really bad...

SBF believed the success was short-lived and hadn't bought into crypto in general.

Could the witnesses be lying, though? Michael Lewis say so, and he's smart.

Sounds like this guy just fell out of bed, jumped on his laptop and started the interveiew, another Sam in the making. When the question was asked about 25:30 funds going to charity, Zane Tackett sounded clueless. The interviewer should have pushed that point harder...! SBF => FBS

Very smart indeed this SBF! Otherwise all the investors are the most idiotic people on the planet Earth. If SBF is a genius everyone else is intelligent but without luck, good luck ,no? The greed is the best way to be genius, intelligent and on the cover of Forbes. And also the greed is the best way to become rich. Why be a drug lord when you can be the king of crypto? Bad boys of the wild west of crypto... OMG

Where is Sam Trabucco? This was a great interview by the way. I am not convinced that Sam is a smart guy. He's either a smart dumb guy or a dumb smart guy. Anyone with half a brain would of course know that what he was doing was something highly criminal. Criminal, criminal, criminal. Money is never enough of a reason to do 100 years. Or even 20. Hell, no.

I've wondered too. I have since read that he wasn't in the inner circle. I think it would be impossible not to know what was going on since he was the co-head of Alameda. So either he was just in charge of the day to day trading but was in on the scam or he knew but was smart enough no to leave any evidence with his finger prints and that's why he left months before the collapse.

I have known and done business with people, that all their live have been told by others they are smart and giffed. This becomes a hallmark of who they think they are. So much so, the so called smart person fools themselve into beleving they cannot fail and the people around them beleive they cannot fail also. The Genius paradox. Sam could have been out of his mind rambling BS and people would still beleive he is a genius.

I'm not trying to give any credit as a genius, but I think he is sneaky smart creating a nerdy persona to disarm people, all the while he was operating this complex scheme behind the scenes and not even telling people close to him. Most arrogant ppl need to brag and get caught that way. The current popular narrative is because FTX/Alameda collapsed that he was an idiot. Where as I think he was taking big risks that failed or didn't have enough time to payoff.@@petermsamson
