Former Alcatraz Prisoner Returns to Reunite With Ex-Guards

For three years Alcatraz was home for William Baker. The ex-con returns every year to revisit his past. The Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, now a national park, was open for nearly 30 years from 1934 to 1963. It housed some of the country's most notorious criminals, including Al Capone. It was also home to the prison guards and their families. They reunite each year to swap stories from days gone by. InsideEdition.com’s Leigh Scheps ( / leightvreporter ) has more. #InsideEdition

I’m just glad seeing prisoners and guards alike visiting this place even after decades!

As a former CO who In there right mind would want to return to the facility they retired from and recall all there experiences. I hated it and left a state facilty after 10 years

thats understandable. most people have no idea what a CO has to go up against. day in and day out. Constant stress. I dont think O would be rushing back

I didn't know the guards and their families actually lived there. I always thought they had to take a boat to the island and then back to the mainland at the end of their shift everyday.
