I am so impressed by the popularity of Nanyuki High School. I must have been the first student to be admitted to the school in 1965. I arrived one day earlier and the German headmaster had me admitted at the Nanyuki police station to spend the night in a cell because he had nowhere to put me for the night. I had supper with my cellmates, enjoyed my sleep, and reported to the school for admission the following day. I became the first Headboy of the school and even chaired the Board of governors later on. As a retired professor, I am ever grateful for the way the school has contributed to my life.
