Forgotten Performances: Kordell Stewart TORCHES the Broncos (1997)
Can't forget about Yancey Thigpen's monster first half either!
Kordell Stewart would go off for 5 TD in a clinching game in the AFC.
Yes, he would ultimately lose in the playoffs against Denver later that year.

Kordell Stewart is the reason I’m a huge Steelers fan!!!! I watched the Steelers on a Monday night game when I was 9 and became a huge fan of his!!! Now I’m a diehard Steelers fan!!!
Makes me smile hearing Three Rivers roar like that again.
I remember thinking I may have seen the best performance ever in my time. Hats off to my guy Yancey Thigpen too, wish we paid Receivers back then.
Kordell Stewart was very underrated.
Stewart is a great forgotten player. Had the great game leading a comeback against the Ravens
Kordell may have been a great QB if the Steelers kept the same offensive system for more than a season. He was exciting to watch tho!
One of the underrated Steelers in my opinion.
If Kordell played in Today's era he would have much more success
Every time the announcer said Thigpen I kept thinking Ben Ben lol.
Kordell was the Man! And seeing coach Cower pumped like that makes my heart smile! LETS GO LETS GO!
He would've been a SUPERSTAR if he didn't have 3 different offensive coordinators in all his years in PITTSBURGH!
I remember this game. I was in the seats in one of the end zones. Great game. Very cold.
I was at this game it was f*cking great. Sadly, a couple weeks later we played the same team in the same stadium for the right to go to the SB and we lost. If Kordell had just been more consistent with that type of play, we have one or two more Lombardi's in the trophy case. He waa so exciting to watch though!
Still my favorite Steelers team!!! Kordell was ahead of his time!
Kordell just needed the right coach. Chan Gailey knew how to use him... after he left, they didn't make use of his strengths as well.
GR8 vid!! How I miss the days of 'Slash' Stewart!! Sittin' in the stands @3 Rivers watchin' Slash break the ankles of opposing DB's followed up w/The Bus breakin' well, EVERYTHING on opposing defenders provided such amazing memories growin' up. Honest to God I'd PURPOSELY try & lose my voice, that'd b the litmus test as to whether or not it was a good game. When my Pops & I'd get home, my Mom would say something to me to see if I still had a voice, & if I didn't, she'd know we'd won, 😂.
I loved this team but like many of cowherd teams they under achieved, still love them all and always will.
Courtney Hawkins was a solid play maker for the STEELERS in the slot.
Love and respect to Stewart for all the great memories.
He could of been a Hall of Famer if he could finish a season!!! NEVER LOST A MONDAY NIGHT GAME
