Just one thing to note: This is not necessary on a SSD and in fact will only decrease the lifespan of said SSD as there are no moving parts inside the drive and all data stored on it are quickly accessed from the memory cells. Moving around data that is already organized puts additional strain on the memory cells of the SSD. Only do this on a HDD.

Bro it took me 10 sec to rebuild database... I even got modern warfare 180GB and FIFA20 50GB .. On 400GB HDD harddrive. .. I expected it to take several hours... Is this right ? Why that fast... To few games or.... Thanks for popping up on KZread reminding us... I used to do this to my computers... But never needed it on PS3. Yesterday I fragged my whole PS4 console apart and took all the pieces to the bike shop and blew the dust out of everything with the air blower 😅 PS4 worked so well after that... It used to sound like an airplane but now I can't hear it... It wasn't that dirty inside but it sure made it work hard on COD. This defrag made it even better and smoother ☺

Question. I have an ssd I got specifically for ps4 but have a lot of stuff in my capture gallery that I want to keep there on my current 2tb hdd. It's more than your average flash drive holds altho I'm trimming vids to cut them down to exact moments I want to keep without the extra crap I don't need (loading screens, scenes I don't want etc). I thought originally I could just use my current 2tb that's in it now as back up drive for ps4 & keep everything on my hdd but I read that having playstation firmware on your main hdd & your backup causes issues which makes sense. Any suggestions on how I can successfully do what I wanted without too many headaches or doing stuff wrong? I have over 250gb of stuff in my capture gallery.

Taha Iftekhar a machine is only as fast as it’s slowest part. Just because you add an SSD to a PS4 won’t automatically make it faster. Depends on how you are utilizing it and the capabilities of the PS4 to begin with. That’s what’s probably why you don’t notice a difference.

I love how the word HACK gets overused for EVERYTHING. Its also as bad as the word AWESOME. The definition of the word hack is: To gain unauthorized access to data in a system or computer. Which is not what you're doing. Otherwise you'd be voiding the warranty, which you are not. It should be called a TIP not a HACK.

Thanks and yes this helps greatly. I have an issue with my PS4 Gold Headset. Its setup for my PS4 Pro my wireless dongle communicates with the PS4 headset. It wont register under bluetooth on PS4. Settings are greyed out for the headset and the correct settings are set. When I turn on my headset it wont register on my PS4. It should show up with the icons. It should cut out the sound automatically and input the sound through the headset. It does not. The Headset Companion app shows my headset and I have reset to default settings. I believe the dongle is not registering to the ps4 pro. No us 3.0 cables. I do have a psvr hooked up. Any suggestions.

hmmmm not sure I'm afraid...couple of options to try: 1. does it work with a 3.5mm cable? (just to test if the bluetooth) 2. Do you have another headset to try? (just to test if its a headset issue or a hardware issue on the PS4Pro)

Don't do this if you keep rebuilding the database when not necessary something is eventually gonna go wrong not to mention you could be waiting a very long time for this process to work if you want a PS4 to work better buy and ssd it's that simple once you've moved all your games to it your PlayStation has essentially nothing but the bare bones software and any media apps that you can't transfer but everything will run faster and smoother and it cuts load times in half. Win win win
