I'm really impressed with how good the young fella operated that Honda. He knew to give it just the right length of slack and the right amount of fuel and not too much to break something. Good on ya for getting him into knowing how engines work and teaching him how to get those good old tractors running. It never hurts to learn that stuff and you're never too young.

The older cub cadets are the best garden tractors ever built. Yes I sell parts and own 200 of them. Bullpen Antiques

Thank you we are hoping to put them back to close to original. Much more to come.
A lot of nice old tractor. Traditionally, in the tractor Community, if it has bolt on back tires, it's a garden tractor. On flatheads, it's almost impossible to see the piston because the valves are in the way, if fluid is pouring out the exhaust, the exhaust valve is open.

You are probably right it's been a while since I had one of these flat heads apart. I just hope the exhaust valve isn't stuck but it makes sense that it is. Thank you for your comment.

There is a safety switch on the brake pedal. It has to be depressed for the engine to start. Good stuff dude!

Thank you much more to come. A lot of the wires break in to green chalk when you touch them so we are going to replace all of them but I will look to see if there is a safety switch on the brake also.

Yes it does. We are going to put a new carb on it they were only like $25 for a whole new one I think its worth it and it should run great after that. Thank you for your comment.
Hey! Awesome work. I’m not mechanically inclined but I think I’ll be able to do something like this. Question: what are you connecting those jumper cables to on the left and right side of the tractor?
