Here's the thing my heart wants to forgive apparently my mind doesn't because I'm still woke up in the middle of the night terrifying nightmares and night sweats with some of the things I've been through. How do you forget somebody who took your childhood innocence? Some things are unforgivable and God will handle it accordingly on judgment day. And I really want to let go I've been trying for my God I'm 42 things happened to me before I was 10 years old. It shaped me into the man that I am I guess, I also suffer from PTSD from it. As much as I hate to admit it there are times when I am dangerous because of it, I sometimes go into a rage that's uncontrollable if I'm confronted or if someone else out here or fighting somebody is going to physically hurt me sometimes I can't stop myself. I have forgiven in my heart but I'm still tormented I'm tormented when I'm asleep when my mind relaxes and supposed to be peaceful I see images of things that I don't want to remember so I block them out of my mind. All my life people have taken from me starting when I was a child I've had to start my life over four times because of this at age 42. All I'm trying to do is not be calloused over Still feel some emotions still have a heart still have love. I don't know man I tried everything and all these things to forgive certain things and my mind won't let it go

I know it's hard to forgive some one who has hurt you in your life. You see my ex husband cheated on me, we were together for 20 years, 12 years ago I left him I never took him back, I moved on in my life . We have a beautiful daughter who is a mom now to our handsome grandson. My ex wanted me back, I told him no, I told him I forgive you.but I will never forget what you did to me. I made peace with my self. And Let it go. I'm very happy in my life to day. I love my self to much . And I will not settle for less as well.

I was sexual abused by my 2 aunts from age 7 to 14 and my mom never forgave them but I did. Took me many years for forgive them….

I struggle with forgiveness and letting go tremendously. I will sit and torture myself with memories from childhood of people who made fun of me. Or if I’ve embarrassed myself. Over and over I replay these images in my head, hoping to change something that deep down I know cannot be changed. The past. I hate myself. I’ve let the pain that others have caused me define me. I want so desperately to stop thinking about it. I want to love myself. I want to stop seeing forgiveness as a sign of weakness.

I feel this 100% never forgave myself for mistakes,embarrassing myself or doing things I know I didn’t want to do but did to not upset whoever and that just made me lose myself more and more over the years. Trying to become a better person for myself so I can be better for others

@Truthproject you have to let go not for her but for yourself cause if you hold on to that pain it will be nothing to what it is now than what it will bring later, so you have let go of the past and keep moving forward. i dont understand alot and I don't know what's going on In your life but I'm sorry that it hurts I hope this helps even if it's just alittle bit.
