That spring is much nicer steel than you need for a throwing knife! I plasma cut mine out of scrap sheet metal and just rough grind the edges.
Next time use the horn of your anvil it will be easier on you to move the steel. And get it hotter
u could of trown it in the forge and hotcut a part
