Forging an Elephant's Head - Chess Set 2020

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I forge an elephant head as part of my continuing series of chess pieces for the 2020 chess set challenge. I begin with 1.5" x1.5" mild steel with is a big chunk. The large size makes it easier to create detail but is unwieldy as it is a large mass to move around. This turns out to be a very challenging process for my first attempt.

Watching that take shape was pretty impressive. I like how you showed the whole process from the beginning clay design and how you work through issues, that helps a lot. Still working on my bulldog pawn piece, trying to sort out the body, hopefully i'll have time to work on it this weekend. Thanks for the great video.👍

WOW that's all I can say. Very inspiring how you discuss the they up and go into method of operation. Also keeping it real and saying your not sure if you're process is a good touch. Definitely not a beginner type project from my perspective. From start to what you came up with is very good. I'll be watching for the revisit to Mr Ellyflunk. 🙏 Blessed days now y'all Crawford out ⚒️🧙‍♂️

I cannot come up with the correct words, right now, to express how impressive and fantastic I think your work and skills are. Top tier craftsman is what you be, good sir. If possible, could you give us a closer look at the tool with no name you were using around the 8 minute mark? Thanks for sharing what you know.

Love this series so far, keep em coming! I like the steel/copper mix too, seeing as the tusks are a pain in the ass, could copper tusks work? Got a visual in my head and I think it would look epic haha

Instead of PlayDoh, you should use marzipan for your first-stage modeling material. Once you're done shaping it, you can EAT it to help internalize the design you want to make
