Beautiful blade and huge respect. As a former student of Iaiado, I do have one tiny comment - while in my experience it is common to have chamfered shoulders, but its less common to have the spine chamfered so much that they meet and form a sharp triangle instead of a trapezoid (05:37). AFAIK, the spine was traditionally left dull for several reasons. First, contrary to what is seen in movies, knowledgeable samurai combatants were loathe to clash edge on edge because of the potential for damage to the hardened edges, and so it was always preferred to parry/deflect incoming strike whenever possible with either the spine, or with the sides of the blade - and that was true regardless of whether the combatants fought katana 2 handed, or with katana in the main hand and wakizashi in the off hand. The other reason to not sharpen the spine was that the wakizashi was used in a 2H reverse grip for seppuku ... and I can't help but imagine a sharp spine would make an already miserable experience even more so. Then again, seppuku is no longer practiced in modern times, so take that with a grain of salt. 😉 Still a beautiful blade. 🥰

I love the Stuka, you should consider forging a little hammer to add/remove the peg. The Japanese would find it more polite 😜 You are becoming a true master, you always made beautiful pieces but now you are a top artist!
