Forging a Cutting table For My Anvil!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

A cutting table is an extremely useful tool for any kind of punching or cutting operation, because the surface of the anvil is very hard and so are punches and chisels! If you cut or punch directly on the surface of the anvil you will dull your tools and dent your anvil. No good!

I have one I made a while ago. It's kinda crappy but it gets it done. Thanks for watching!

Isn't it too small? Looks a tad uncomfirtable to mantain stuff in it

It's not too bad. It could be a little bigger but at that point it would start getting awkward to store. Not to mention fit in the forge to make the thing in the first place 😅

Dude, what a cool idea! Almost like a sacrificial piece so that you don’t damage your anvil!?

Yeah pretty much. It's basically a hardy tool to use like the cutting table on a London pattern anvil. Does wonders to keep your tooling and anvil good! Thanks for watching!

It's in the 90s where I'm at. Way to hot for such heavy protective coverings. Appreciate you watching!

Usually anvils are placed on tree stumps anyways, i don't see the problem, wood isn't nitrocellulose
