Forget Rolex, Forget Audemars Piguet … This is the Luxury Sports Watch To Have | Watchfinder & Co.
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
It’s not often you stumble across something truly special when it comes to watchmaking, and by that, I mean discover a great watch no one else really seems to be talking about. Usually, if it’s anything worth mentioning, everything’s already been said-take the Code 11.59 from Audemars Piguet or the Odysseus from A. Lange & Söhne, for example. But in the case of the H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Centre Seconds, however, here’s a luxury stainless steel sports watch that seems to have slipped under the radar-that just might be one of the very best.

H. Moser doesn't focus on marketing? Seriously? They're famous for their marketing shenanigans.
Your videos are absolutely amazing. Contextual documentaries about the human condition, pivoting around watches. Amazing production, great writing and a smooth, articulate voice. Love it.
Yup, I own one of these. I was shown it in a London AD a couple of years ago -- having not known that HMC even made steel cases. Fifteen minutes after discovering its existence I left the AD with it on my wrist. "Sports watch"? Maybe. Large, rugged and possessed of decent WR it is. However, it is also beautiful -- HMC fumé dial and slim bezel (small watches pretending to be macho by sporting acres of "porthole" bezel do little for me). It has the additional advantage (not mentioned in the video) of obscurity. HMC makes only about 1,500 units per year in total, so it is very unlikely that you'll find several in any given bar -- which I like.

You said it right. It is a stealth wealth kind of watch. You wear one because you are a watch connoisseur and you are doing it for yourself, not for the crowd. It is a watch for a person who is mature enough and doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. For the rest there is Rolex.

Your photography is perfect, as always. There is some irregularity with the smoothness of the second hand. Not something I would expect from a Moser.
I love your videos. I wish you could include a lume shot of the watches you include in your videos. Would love to see this h.moser & cie lume shot which rarely uses lume in its applied indices.
Amazing! Thanks
I think Moser is coming, in a big way. It's just class, and it's real. Even the steel ones though ... steep numbers. I almost wish they were a little more out-of-reach, which would make it easier to get them out of my head.

Beautiful watch and great history lesson. I’d certainly spring for it at 50% off, but at retail it’s out of reach. An old history professor of mine was fond of saying “and they were shortened by a head” when talking about the French Revolution.

i LOVE this watch. well, H. Moser as a Brand. however, i found you video strange this time. you talked MORE about other brands, pocket watches, clocks, than H.Moser !!. thanks for the video.
Awesome story. Best yet. Love the watch too!
Hmmm, I suppose the rubber strap, stainless steel case and 120m water resistance are the nods to this being a sports watch, but I think it’s a bit of a stretch. Still, I like Moser (although those jewels would look so much better in gold chatons) and this piece would look good in a more formal setting. Nice video, as usual.

@@riojimatsuoka well lots of fakes out there but you have a valid point. Aspirational working class and middle class can afford steel Rolex - hence the massive demand - but not so much Two time or all precious metal watches. The draw with Rolex is there will always be a buyer. Other brands attract wealthier clientele or watch nerds who don’t mind the prospect of losing half their money should they sell. Cartier, Breitling, Zenith even JLC all fall away on the secondary market. Rolex stay strong come what may.
Well done, good sir.
It's a dream of a daily driver watch, notably the dome glass puts it on the formal side. Specs are great, you wouldn't guess the 72h power reserve and water resistance by its low profile. Clean no date dial, nice lume and the fume match with the retro logo is madness. I have it in red. The coolest version was by far the gold with grey dial from launch, too bad I was a watch infant then and couldn't claim it. I agree with some previous comment, the metal finishing is not top tier, like the price. Then again, it's... "very rare". Love it.
Please get to the point, Model and Price ?
Lovely as usual.. but jeepers kept wanting to see the detail on the sides of the lugs ! Carry on..

I personally loved the history on this viji. Thankyou. Far from “rambling”! The invention of the Guillotine & the number of heads that rolled was utterly insane. Moser isn’t just in their own class like Girard Perregaux, they’re on another planet. Sadly 😭 the Moser watches I love are of the stratospheric price class.
It’s a fantastic brand with some amazing items in their collection but I’m not I look it them as sport watches - to me at least they appear to be more smart casual / dress watch .
