You can also try needle and yarn/thread cornrows or flat twists if you cannot cornrow.

I use to do my sew ins like this in Highschool four to the back and honey I was done in no time😂

Sis, I appreciate you! I’ve been doing my hair since I was 15 and I use to change my hair every 1-2 weeks. Now I dread doing my hair because of braiding my own hair takes so long now that I’m in my late 20s and I’m a mother now. This technique is very smart and quick but yet still give the flat seamless foundation for my lacefront wigs. I can only imagine how quick it going to be when taking it down!!

This the old school method my white step mom used on me as a style back in the day lol

another alternative is just doing braids or double strand twists connecting if you don't like rubberbands. I can't cornrow, so that tends to work for me better, as I don't always feel like hunting the bands out of my hair when taking it down, lol! (also prevents it from being too tight.)

OMG THIS IS AMAZING, my mom is the only one to know how to braid, she taught me but i always forget, I know how to do the most basic braid but I don’t how to feed in the hair because it comes out lumpy and weird looking , I just got first wig and I was overwhelmed just looking at my hair and the low of a skill to braid, THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY GENIUS and I’m glad I can wear my wig without the hassle of braiding , thank you sooo muchhh

Omg! Love your technique! Going to do this tonight. I'm slow at cornrows and griping the hair. Love your advice on not putting the rubber bands so tight and use oils for the bands. Also cutting them out is a good tip instead of pulling them out. Thanks for sharing! 😀😊😀

Thank you so much for sharing this video! I wanted to venture out to wear wigs as a protective style but my issue was getting my hair to lay flat since it’s a bit thick & long. I’m definitely going to try this. Hopefully I won’t have too much fuss with my ends.

I have very fine hair as you can see on the picture. that is my own, its your typical fine hair for fair skin; and Im 47 so hair begins to go thin anyways; I used to know how to cornrow but that was highschool back in the 90's. Thats not happening now. If only bc I really do not have time to fiddle that long. All hail rubberbands. Since mine snap each time I baught elastics you put in a todlers hair. Thanks for this I forgot the technique all together :)

Or you can use the small plastic bands made on the style of rubber bands . The ones that are used on babies with very little hair. They don’t pull on your hair as much.
