I got a question, so I looked up what the strongest lightest metal was, and supposedly it was magnesium alloy. Light as aluminium, strong as titanium alloy. My question is is it possible to forge it into a sword?, has anyone done it before? If not why haven't they? Gotta ask the experts :)

Fantastic work on this piece, it looks great! I was curious what the purpose of twisting the metal was before hammering it out further? I'm still new to smithing but I'm interested to learn more about different techniques and their applications.

@@chromzepher It is done to create the pattern you see on the final blade after it's been oxydized(?) in that brown liquid.

@@dr.madhouse5483 Definitely , there is so much freedom in that for the artists. Most authors give guidelines but no solid visuals.
This is exactly the kind of video I want to watch during quarantine
This is one amazing episode, I really love the music and the fact that there's no voice over. Of course I loved man at arms, but this is super cool too

One of the reasons we have avoided voice overs in this series is to keep them separate from the Man at Arms series. I suspect we will mix it up some in the future.

Very great craft! Can't doubt that I would love to see man at arms reforged again soon as well BUT I highly value this craft too so I'm looking forward to see both in the future and greeting more talented artists to be more present on your channel as well!

Floris Postmes is not only a great smith, he is also a great person. I guess that is what makes him such a unique and passionated smith. I really do admire him
