My brother in law died this afternoon. He and my sister would have been married 54 years next month. I remember their wedding day - a cool, clear bright September morning. We were all so young then - it was my freshman year in college, and over two months away from the assassination of a young man we called Mr. President. Count each day you live as being beyond precious. We only have so many of them, then they run out. There is no 'forever young' as much as we'd like there to be.

I was a freshman in high school when we sang this song to the seniors in one of their celebrations. It was 1988, and when I hear it now, I still get the chills and teary-eyed. This song will forever transcend time.

My wife died a few years ago, have that feeling-never replace. She is forever young up in heaven. Even singing along helps with the pain.

No song in existence comes close with giving chills like this. I know a lot of good singers, bands, musicians (dIRE sTRAITS, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, U2, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Pet Shop Boys, Alphaville of course and more) and this is my all-time favorite song.

I was 18 when this came out, and it made me think of the future then. Now I have just turned 60 and it still gives me shivers thinking how quickly time has passed and how I was then and now I'd just love to go back. My mom put me on this song when I was 12 years old it's quite a thing to sing this song as a child flash forward to a 23 year old with a big boy job and it really puts into retrospect how quickly time does fly. 12 years old.
