His house is still existing in Cranborne near High boys school James Chimombe Ocean City Band I still remember his music ichiridzwa mundenge yekuti munenge muchiti mugere, don't forget to do for Biggie Tembo and bhundu Boys, 4 brothers, Wrist Brothers, Gakamoto jumbo stars all the musicians they departed earlier

I watched James Chimombe live at Mapitikoti Bar in Mbare back in the 80s One story I can share… My childhood best friend Alfonso Zvenyika the boxer was with me. He told me he was related to James Chimombe At the end of the concert, James was counting the gate takings. Zvenyika went over and greeted him nemutupo. James lifted up his head and immediately recognised Zenyika. He reached into the box and handed Zvenyika a few coins. True story

If you analyse the music Chimombe churned out in the decade he lived after independence you realise what a huge loss his passing away was....One wonders's what would have been the case had he lived another decade or two..this given the fact he was a year younger than another music great Oliver Mtukudzi....How sad most musicians of his generations did not leave beyond 40 years of age. It is a fact that Chimombe's music will live much longer than he did .

I really enjoy with this program, continue Drewmas media, update us am from Zambia.
