Thanks for your reaction to Forestella! This is a famous French song, Je suis malade. (I'm sick) The original singer is Serge Lama. However, Forestella sang this song as an homage for Lara Fabian's version. It notes in the lyrics with terms in feminine form (orpheline, heureuse). But Serge Lama posted his praises about this stage on his official SNS. (Twitter, IG, FB). Forestella released their Korean version of this song in their 3rd regular album: the Forestella. 눈물 속에 홀로 (Alone in Tears) has lyrics in Korean. Even the words in the lyrics were changed a lot from the original Je suis malade, you can feel the deep emotions and vibes of the original in it if you try to listen. One of the members of Forestella (Bae DooHoon) contributed to writing some lyrics in Korean as well. I googled English translation for the lyrics. Hope it can help you enjoy the song better. In the original chanson, someone talks about his relationship that has just ended and how this situation is completely destroying him. In FORESTELLA's version this is heightened by the simultaneous loss of 4 abandoned people expressing their state of vulnerability, frustration, sadness and despair in perfect harmonies. This performance, in addition to all the outstanding skills, creates such a concentrated load of emotion that it takes your breath away.

Je suis Malade", now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me whiskies, l pour my blood in your body, When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was Leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in ... 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad, But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during is own Paris concert in January 1995. lt was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone. Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on The 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal)is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.

It wasn't a song I originally knew, and I don't know French at all. But as their voices begin to sound, I can't help but feel my heart sinking and tears rising. The original is a very good song, but I think they sang it well with their emotions.

Beautiful Reaction. Thank you. "Je suis malade" is my favourite Forestella performance. Bae Doo-Hoon absolutely got me on this performance. I grew up in a household with Opera surrounding me, and I rate this and "Grande More" with Cai Chengyu and Ma Jia, as two of the finest performances I have ever seen/heard across all genres. Sorry, not sure if you have Reacted to Dimash Kudaibergen. If not.. Try his "SOS" 2021 Performance.

Congratulations for getting this through copyright. A really good and honest reaction to a devastating performance. Try a few more upbeat songs for a bit such as Bad Romance, Despacito or Sweet Dreams. Time In A Bottle is also outstanding but with a more desperate feel than these other suggestions.
