I studied in a private school in Manila. and my experience is that our teachers were generally approachable. As described by those Japanese girls they were friendly. I think it's really in our culture to be such. We as as a people are very personal. That is one characteristic that most foreigners find different.

the reason for that (no bathtubs) we do have but few households. its not that popular because we are surrounded by waters and also others wont have that for safety. sometimes you know kids are curious. and also we want just quick shower sometimes. and we dont have. winter so its not common to have water heaters except in hotels and high areas like tagaytay and baguio.

Some teachers here are stricts but many are not,in the past decades, our teachers were much stricters than now, those were the days that students should study hard, observes discipline and obeyed rules of the school religiously or else...you'll be punished!

That's true nelly people in the Philippines are open mended and hospitality is always there, here in Brazil people is quite different they seldom or don't want to exchange ideas or talk to the foreigners maybe because they don't speak English.

Water heaters are rare. In private homes, we boil water in kettles then pour it into a pail of water which we pour on ourselves using a "tabo" (dipper). Two dipperfuls of warm water first to wet ourselves down then we wipe soap all over and sometimes use a soapy towel or sponge. Then we use the remaining warm water to rinse off. Filipinos are also used to taking a bath with only one bucket of cold or warm water instead of a shower. It's a good way of conserving water.

  • @abrilmargarita8332

we take a bath everyday.. and usually twice a day.. and in some instances more than twice. we use "tabo" in pouring water and we also scrub. we are not used to bathtubs. when i went to japan or any country with a bathtub, i don't use it. i am not comfortable , and i think bathtubs are not clean in hotels 😊

I was born and raised in the Philippines and proud to be a Filipino 😉and moved to London in the year 2008, about my teachers back in the day I can say they are cool just doing their job and yes those Japanese girls are right about teachers table they put like some coloured paper as background then sometimes pictures of family or friends or both then they put plastic cover on top of it, and it looks awesome, very creative, mostly art teachers have a very good table. | remember my English teacher back in secondary school he let us smoke cigarette while having a class in exchange to have full attention during class and it works and actually he is the most respected teacher that time but it is a secret between students and him, I remember we become so close when my best mates band have a gig on music museum in greenhills which is big deal because we are very young and we made to play in that kind of venue and he did come and it was really awesome, actually we found him on facebook and we are still friends until now, we remember him as the coolest teacher in the planet. and that was my unforgettable teacher experience, God bless to all.

There are also some strict teacher in the Philippines mostly the old ones. But most of them are nice. Even though some of the teacher can be a friend, as a student we still maintain he respect to our teacher. And they can be friend to us outside the clasa but inside they are a little strict wirh studies. They will also scold you if you behave unproperly.

From my experience (living and studying in the PH), almost if not all teachers are generally approachable, some are more casual than others. Some teachers are very particular on how you act around them, while some teachers will actually prefer you to act casual around them while still maintaining the respect that they are still teachers. In higher education however, i found that the former statement to be more prevalent, especially if they are the "older" teachers/instructors, though they are still generally approachable as long as you're respectful towards them.

4 decades ago in the Philippines, teachers were so strict too. You better study hard or they will call your parents to answer why you are not studying your lesson. They only called my parents when I was in the first grade because I didn't know how to read yet. My mother taught me to read and after that, I've been in the honor roll till high school. 🙂🙂😛😛
