Yep vans sorted but I’ve lost some go pro footage of the engine going back together which is a swine, it’s just been busy here at the moment fella. I will do a bud soon 👍

@@onlygazza Glad you got it sorted 👍 Not enough hours in the day 🙄 Hope to finish putting the straight pipe on my old 135/65 this weekend to make her sound a bit better 🤣 Take care 👍

More time and money down the drain 🙄. Not to bad a price for new crank and shells. Guess it would probably be about that by the time you have had crank reground and oversize shells supplied but like you say what to do with the one con rod 🤔. Could just see what it looks like cleaned up with a new shell in it ?

The old type engines used to have a cut out in the rod & cap & on the mains & the bearings would have a lug that would locate in them, why they have decided to do away with a perfectly good idea which would keep all the bearings in place!, apparently the Land Rover Discovery has the same problem, the engines in them are Ford

Deffo it’s nuts to do it like this and I was pretty unimpressed by the engineering in this engine 👍

I think your right fella, when researching the Mk 7 engine and then taking it apart the shoddy design of the whole thing was very surprising to me. Tip to anyone driving one always let it warm up before Revving it cos that timing chain tensioner is dreadful. Thanks for commenting 👍
