Then it needs to be picked, or drilled

I can’t get the plastic housing off. I’ve removed both screws. Do I need to access the 2 clips behind the steering wheel?

Nevermind on the Transit connects (2016) the 2 holes are already visible just above steering wheel adjustment lever. Just had to push pin in furthest hole and was able to start my van and drive home. Ignition barrel is working fine now!

Yes. But a hard pull with a screwdriver will release as well. It's just clipped after you remove screw

how would this be performed on a customer vehicle that has been drilled/damaged by attempted theft?

You'd need to drill out the rest of the lock

Great video! Today I can't get any of my keys to turn in the ignition on my custom. Do you have to have the key in position 2 to remove the ignition or will it still pull out without a key turned?

Has to be turned. Unfortunately, it won't come out in the neutral position

Hard to tell when I'm not there tbh. You can feel the release clip move in if you're pushing at the same time as you turn ignition. That's how you can tell if you're in the release position

Would be better if you showed how to remove without the key
