    I love how you so often ignore the CAN bus errors and distractions and instead apply some good old common sense. Saves so much time, and garage bills, for the owner. Wish you were my local mech.

    Fault codes can be very misleading at times & I have been lead down the garden path a few times by ignoring my gut feeling. But also vice versa, my gut has lead me down the garden path too. So I suppose you do a little digging & take the route you feel best to get a result 😉👍👍👍

    My thought process was, if the van wasn’t actually locking correctly that could arm the immobiliser. So thought I’d fix that. When the issue persisted I then thought the key battery failing was at fault (which was needed) but Keyfast said the transceiver was faulty 😬😬 So it wasn’t as clean cut as I’d like, but we got a few needed repairs done . Cheers Lar 🙏🙏

    Today I learned (courtesy of this video) the transceiver on my Mazda is working fine. Battery in key stone dead (wont work keyless) but she starts 1st time. I have 2 keys so I'll swap them until I get a new battery. Great show Peter. Love the way you have a beginning middle and end to each story. You'd make a great script writer. 👍 😍👏

    That’s remarkable that an actual transceiver would go intermittently faulty…not an easy one to diagnose…well done Peter…great cartoon

    I thought the same from my tests & felt that the key would fix it. But they had the transceiver in stock & it was very cheap. So I went the advice I was given. It is fixed so all’s well in the end. I have those rockers ready to go and will post them tomorrow 😉👍👍

    I used to see the light on the key signal tool flash, then think everything was ok. After a couple of non starting cars with immobilizer faults, they made the immobilizer tool flash. It left me thinking, I'm not getting enough info from that to fully know what's going on. Now that you have a new transceiver, does it only flash once? Sometimes I use my sealey key fob tester, switch it on and hold it next to the ignition and see it flashes when I turn the ignition on. Cheers Matt

    That is something that I should have shown Matt, yes it only flashes once now with the new transceiver. It Wasn’t a very good test alright. I didn’t realise I could do that with the keyfob tester, excellent tip 💪💪💪👍

    The door lock position sensor is integrated into the door lock. The lock and wiring harness in the A pillar fail quite often. Open the door and just see if the interior light operates when the door is opened and closed??

    Hi, I have a problem were my reverse lights only work for a few seconds and then they turn off on my 2017 Ford Transit. I have replace the reverse light switch but still no luck. I tested the voltage of the reverse light wire and it has 5V but supposed to be 12V. I have asked many mechanics to fix this but they can't. All the other lights work except for the reverse lights. Do you have any advice? Do you know where the fuse is?

  • @kennedysgarage3281

    @kennedysgarage3281

    8 ай бұрын

    5volts is incorrect anyway. Do a voltage check at the reversing light switch. You should most likely have 12 volts on 1 wire, waiting to be sent to the reversing lamp bulbs. And a ground or earth on the other wire, coming from the bulbs. Sometimes Plylining screws on the rear timbers can pierce wires 🤔🤔🤔

    @@satwinderbansal1166 assuming it is the switch carrying power from the fuse box to the reversing light (without looking at a wiring diagram) You should then have 12v at it with the ignition on
